3.7 In-Depth Ice Golems Guide - Snowybois - On Hiatus for 3.8

Apparently theres problems with multistrike where it cancels itself for a lot of melee skills. I wonder if ice golems are in any way affected by this

We do use Empower and we get maim from stone and flesh.

Fortify is a valid option over ruthless, we'll have to see how it sims out.

That's an interesting option. I am tempted to switch to a MoM + Essence Wurm build just because of how often these Legion mobs are killing my ice golems and having 99% of my mana being reserved sucks for recasting.

Hopefully when my golems are 20 quality and Empowered, they will survive better

I think the Phase Acro/MoM build is going to be what I recommend for most people this league now that i've been able to test everything a bit.

Updating the PoB's now but something that looks like this.

Reserve Hatred in Essence worm, take leadership to make up for losing the generosity link. Then just stacking survivability.

Now that my golem damage is better i'm not having nearly as many issues breaking legion out of stasis but everything still hits me like a truck. Definitely focus on survivability > Damage.

I haven't noticed any issues with multistrike. Ruthless feels very bad this league though as you want to do as much damage as possible as quickly as possible to the legion minions. Updating that link to fortify in the PoB's.
Ruthless is still better for bossing but for league mechanics you just need frontloaded damage.
What about melee splash?

i dont feel a difference in clear with/without meleesplash gem.

Will buy an Empower an call it a day i think.
SO 6/1/1/1 setup or 5/1/1/1/1 ? Am i sacrifing something by getting the flame golem for ignite immunity? Clear speed?
I've been running this build this league, thought I would post some of my experiences and observations.

As of last night, have cleared Red Elder, Shaper, and Uber Elder in legion. Shaper is buggy in the Uber Elder fight and teleports around a lot, but it isn't too much of an issue for us. Had about 4500 life + 2000 mana MoM at the time of the fight.

I've been running no auras (auras in my links are just being leveled), no Immortal Call or Molten Shell. This has been out of sheer laziness, I was originally looking into pathing to Phase Acrobatics and using Immortal Call, but I believe I will instead try to stack a decent amount of armor and use Vaal Molten Shell.

MoM + clayshaper/victario's has been feeling good, my damage is more than fine. My biggest issue by far is mana regeneration, even running zero mana reservations. With the loss of the mana nodes behind MoM, we have 3 extra points to spend, so I put 2 into Dreamer for more regen. I think I may invest into the regen nodes by Templar start as well.

I have also been switching between Flame Golems and Ice Golems testing clear speed and ability to handle legion. Right now. I feel like I can break out many more legion mobs with flame golems, but I think that Ice Golems may pull ahead with the right gear and gem levels.

Overall, the build feels really good this league, the primordial cards have turned this into a very affordable league starter build (I leveled as Storm Brand + Lightning Spire and respecced mid saturday). This build can definitely now kill uber elder on a 1ex~ budget if you level your own gems.

If anyone has any ideas for improving the mana regen situation let me know.

edit: Wanted to add that Vaal Legion encounters feel severely overtuned especially on high tier maps due to the dreaded "red cloud" ability. It's not uncommon for all 9 of my golems to be instantly wiped out instantly when the mobs break free. I would expect this to get retuned in a week or two.

Let me know how you like Vaal Molten Shell I was curious if that would work out for the armor stacking/life version of the build.

Regarding mana regen the veil enchant for rings helps a lot. 4% mana returned on damage taken i think it is.

The other option is pathing differently to your SE Dex Node jewel. If you take the one to the right of Sentinel instead of the one right of Harrier for the same number of points you put yourself adjacent to Arcane Chemistry.

Maybe crazy but if you're armour stacking is sanctum of thought worth considering? Gives Armour, Mana, reduced crit/curse effect.

I think I'll definitely be using the veiled enchant as soon as I have it available. I'll post another update once I get my gear a little more sorted out and can give a proper review of Molten Shell. Once I'm finished with Atlas completion I should have plenty of income to get much better gear.

This has been feeling good enough that I may make the run for 100 this league. Playing around with a few Atlas strats, but I think I'll probably just end up going with good old EUGS.

edit: Sanctum of Thought might be a good idea with enough armor. Crit dampening is always a nice bonus.

Im running MoM/phase acro also but im running pure phys golems so i dont need hatred. Im just running war banner and clarity. The mana regen is still no that great (120/s) but its not too bad. Might try the damage taken gaines as mana node see if it helps.

Belt of the Deceiver + Sanctum of Thought in a MoM build should be a significant amount of survivability. I'm almost done finishing my atlas through T12 and i'll put some currency into testing it out.

Serrated Fossil Spamming is going to be 10x as expensive this league as normal, so if i go shaper/charity i may just run skin of the loyal for the enhanced global defenses bonus.
I was thinking the same with Skin, maim chests are going to be an extreme luxury this league.
Since I've been playing with clayshaper, I've been using Cyclone for my CWC offering setup, and it's felt really good. The built in stun immunity is also nice for pathing through mobs. Have been considering playing with a few different setups for other possible benefits.
Something I want to test tonight is swapping on a rampage piece before popping Legions. Thinking the echoing nova might be big enough to break out all of the mobs similar to Vaal Ice Nova.

Edit: I'm holding off on getting a skin until we've been able to sort out what our best gem setups are going to be. Pretty happy with my current chest piece, sac. garbs are easy to recolor.
