Delve Frequently Asked Questions

Oh yeah, this is going to be GUD

This only holds for those who choose to 'push' Delves. The farmers who hunt down fossils and stuff at lower (or higher?...err, shallower) levels will still get ahead of the cart.

I guess the real question is what GGG doing to prevent abuse of some skills that probably will never hit a wall of dificult in delve infinite dungeon.

As a lot of ppl pointed: conversion trap, skills that do %life monster damage.

If delve runs with these skills being mandatory for dungeon, this league will be a real loss of time in terms of trying to have fun on ladder.

At this point, the scaling is what's keeping people from getting farther down delve. Once you get to the point where anything can one-shot you. You just stop progressing period, party or not.

sounds like delve will quickly become a DPS check, if you can't kill monsters fast enough to keep up with the crawler
Sad to see that the ladder (excluding ssf) can't track for both solo play and group play individually. No chance for non-groupers to compete with delve depth against people with aura-bots.

It does not.

I imagine this was a very long, difficult discussion in the office.

Seems pretty ripe for exploit and points towards an incredibly obvious summon/totem delve meta to me, but if you're okay with that, okay.

It was either that, or actually implement smart controlable AI for minions.

Since the alternative would be a league with 0 summoners and totem players.

Also, infinite scaling content will be hard on summoners since they have a very easy hard-cap on gear and performance upgrades.

Fair points. I remain wary that they'll face-roll content *until* that 'infinite scaling' cap gets them, which is still problematic imo. And like I said, it was probably a difficult discussion -- there's no real happy medium here.

(although I'd be perfectly okay with a zero summoner/totem league -- both could do with consignment to the Elemental Plane of Fire for rework.)

We are currently in a no-summoners league as is. Incursions aren't exactly a cakewalk in high tier content for summoners with the mass aoe overlap going on from all the temple mob-types.

I'm happy summoners will at least have the option next league to delve and i'm pretty sure hard-caster-fighters are going to cap out at a lot higher delve levels then summoners will given current PoE mechanics and quite frankly absurd stuff.(like stat sticks scaling etc)

A summoner is going to have to absorb hits from mobs a lot sooner then any self-caster or melee character is going to, since they will most likely follow the "kill it before it hits you" meta on softcore.

Looking good.
We tested it extensively
I was hoping that the ladder would be done in the same style as labyrinth, making it so it only counts if you're in a solo run.

Extremely disappointed with the choice they've gone with, pretty much killed my hype for the entire league sadly.

When has pushing a meta NOT been GGG's goal? They know exactly what they're doing.
Thanks for all the answers (I don't even wanna know how often that dragon one came up though...)!
That's rather exciting news for hideout enthusiasts... 3.5 master and hideout overhaul it seems then... seems great! Delve will probably keep away the boredom until then :)
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
