It is the same reason why Diablo 3 doesn't have the build diversity that it needs. Infinite scaling content has prevented it from having the build diversity that it needs.

I am hoping that GGG can prevent that from happening because it would be bad if players are basically only playing a few builds per ascendancy. Much like how in Diablo 3 players are only playing a few builds that can reach the highest of the leader boards.

Few builds per ascendancy? 70% of players are using 5 out of 19 ascensions. Half of the currently played builds are Arc (all saboteurs and totems), Blade Vortex (all elemetnalists) and Elemental Hit (all ascendants and third of deadeyes).

So does the darkness mean that minions engaging enemies outside the safe zone are as good as dead? Sounds like an awesome time for Summoners!

ARK being even more rare! Wow, why even bother having them at all. People were pissed at them last time because only high volume clearing players ever saw them and when they did they invariably gave you crap. Now you go part way to fixing that by adjusting the drop weighting of the item and then go all the way back again by reducing the likelihood of finding an ARK at all.

Was the same person in charge of Bestiary design also in charge of this new league concept? Do you want a real winner GGG, then get rid of the stupid darkness design mechanic and simply let us have fun with an infinite dungeon and everyone would be thrilled. As it stands now though, this looks like the second league I'll completely pass on.

I'm starting to really question your understanding of your player base because you seem to have an unlimited capacity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory any chance you get.
So just curious, Is this a challenge league or an actual expansion to the core game? Because on the page it says "Delve League" in the first header but then in the second paragraph it dictates next expansion.
