[3.8] Demi's Infinite Tinkerer, the Lightning Trap Saboteur (EVERYTHING/BUDGET VIABLE)
" I'm trying out Explosives Expert right now. Because the description of skitterbots says they "will trigger your traps", I thought maybe I won't need Chain Reaction and took it. Well, the Skitterbots are doing a horrible job triggering traps, and yet I don't feel that I'm loosing any damage. The trigger AOE bis big enough (I took master sapper early) and I don't care if a trap doesn't trigger, when all monsters are dead. When you play around in POB Explosives Expert gives a lot more damage, when the monsters are shocked and chilled. But when I look at poe.ninja ALL the players still take Chain Reaction. I don't know if I'm overlooking something, or it is just habit by them. Still I think I'm going to keep Explosives Expert. So I'll have a somewhat unique build. Regarding the burning bonus: How can you ignite monsters? Infernal Leagion does DOT and does not ignite and I don't have oher ideas. | |

After legion, I was burned out and started digging through Standard stash tabs. I had a ton of fun with this build when it first came out, mainly from the crit multi for bossing.

" There isn't a minimum damage threshold to ignite, unlike chill or shock, so any amount of fire damage on your rings will do the trick. I'm running the Fire/Cold flat damage Jun craft so I can ignite and shatter. CWDT->Wave of Conviction also works well. I have mine generating power charges, but a CWDT->WoC->Curse on Hit->:Curse: setup would ignite on crit and also give -25% lightning resist. " 1. Shimmeron with 5 Power Charges + Assassin's Mark. The flat crit from both sources pushes us to 100% crit in optimal situations, with a diamond flask covering the non-optimal. 2. Skitterbot aura abuse. In combination with Explosives Expert and Hypothermia, our damage output increases dramatically thanks to Chill, Shock, and Ignite providing so many bonuses (and enabling Hypothermia). We usually can't reliably chill bosses due to having afterthought cold damage. Now we can. 3. Lastly: Hypothermia being enabled by being able to chill any monster. So we've switched our helm enchant for +3 pierce, so we can drop that gem for more damage instead of increased damage. 4. Wave of Conviction giving -25% resist due to exposure. I have no idea why this skill on a CWDT isn't more popular, and it's possible I'm missing something. You can see all this in effect if you switch off the elemental statuses in the configuration menu - the damage will drop dramatically. Same with assassin's mark and power charges. " The "gain x% elemental damage as extra chaos damage" is the best affix you can get on your weapon. But you don't only want 1 good affix on your weapon, but at least four. And then weapons with a chaos damage affix get very expensive. |
