" His minions must be hella tanky, probably won't be able to do it with slave drivers for a while. We'll need the Ape setup with zombies and skellies dealing the damage. I particularly hate how hard it is to even find the boss in the room. As we can see in the video, most of the pets dying (and even his own death) was from walking around. |

The key is probably to force them stay close to you, SD in aggresive mode are running around like crazy, and this is what makes them die... So either different spectres, or defensive gem setup? |

" Damage to attacks on your gear doesnt matter (not sure if shield charge counts as an attack), you dont want dmg to spells. And you dont have to switch gear to check if it works, apply Arma Brand to any mob and you should see "vulnerable to lightning" under its name. BTW, what about sacrificing some minion damage nodes and instead getting a +1 to curses and using conductivity (something else if you are not using lightning based spectres) with curse on hit armageddon brand as well?

" Well, tbh, I remember from when I did my first RF build ages ago that for EE I couldn't have any "adds x to x fire damage to attacks" but it is possible that it was for shield charge only and that it doesn't matter for spells. So now you have me questioning myself lol. I know for sure if that damage applies to spells it will mess with your EE. But if it doesn't specify spells, maybe you're ok? I'm assuming you never auto attack lol |

" The thing with curses is their reduced effectiveness against bosses. As of 3.8, against normal map bosses, curses were only 67% effective. Against Elder, Shaper and both sets of guardians, they were only 34 % effective. This is why many of us didn't run a 2nd curse in 3.8 and why I would advise against it in 3.9. Whether you gear or spec for it on the tree, it's a lot of work for only 34% effectiveness. Trash mobs dies fast enough and barely get cursed before they blow up anyway. Now, I can't speak to metamorph bosses or the Awakener and the other new bosses, and I'm not sure who would know, but even against them, I'm not sure it would be worth the effort to get a 2nd curse. Others may disagree, but that's my $0.02 anyway. |
