I think the ASE gem is the most interesting with its 19% chance to do double damage. When it is used with the PoH build the final repeat will do 105% more damage with a 19% chance to double - basically an extra 100% more modifier on top! If you look at the gem configuration, I don't include Ele Focus, so our SDs will can apply big shock values!


Does summon skitterbots still have a value in the PoH setup then?


Once I get my hand on the Awakened Gems, I'll update both builds since I'll need to link them to the guide. Double curse adds more customisation options to the build. People could choose 2x res debuff, or 1 res debuff and enfeeble/temp chains. And that means Unset will make a comeback! (I can never get rid of them...)

I was thinking that it might be worthwhile to drop Skitters and add Aspect of the Spider. The damage boost from spider webs is about the same. They also apply hinder at about the same radius as curses, which is actually better than Skitters. AotS will also free up 1 passive point (reduced mana reserve next to Sovereignty).

Would you still recommend Slave Drivers #1 if I didn't want to gems swap?

I think you mentioned in your update that you would just use Conc full-time, but not sure it that's true with Drivers specifically because of melee range (of if you recommend another spectre entirely in 3.9).

I just absolutely hate hot-swapping gems mid-map/fight/whatever, so I'm wondering what you think the best (4/5/6) links would be and which spectre you would choose for a general end-game (maps, bosses, etc...) without switching stuff around all the time.

Should mention that I play SSF exclusively, so would probably going with W/S variant and I assume mostly crafted gear at the start.

You should do perfectly fine without an AG. A lot of people deactivate their AG in very dangerous content. You can use Zombies in its place. The zombie nerf in 3.9 might not be terribly bad. If people end up using them and reporting back that they are fine, I can put them back into the build.

Yes, 3 spectres in less than perfect gear is fine. I used a Berserker Summoner in the last Flashback league. Killed Shaper using 3 Fire-Eaters (much weaker than Slave Drivers): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7l99YXFilc

You will have to switch to a different spectre. There is one called Crazed Driver which is the physical version of Slave Drivers. Its damage is very, very low, so it may take a while to kill bosses.

Yes, Bone Armour shares the cooldown. I recommend CWDT + IC because it doesn't require any button pressing (make the build easier to play). If you are happy to press a button for the guard skill, you can drop CWDT + IC.

Sadly, Vis Mortis is not worth using now. It's especially bad because 15% gain extra chaos doesn't make up for the 20% reduced life.

I am guessing that the new exalts gems can craft +1 INT gem on amulet because we've seen examples of crafted +1 DEX. So, a crafted delve amulet with +1 INT will get us to RS25 without the need for Empower. Unfortunately this means no Aul's Haste (free Haste).

This is the normal progression because the PoH build needs two uniques: Pledge of Hands and Devouring Diadem. They generally don't hit the market until the second week and are generally not cheap.


I can modify the Pledge build's PoB with levelling trees if people want that. That way you can just build for PoH from the beginning. I can't guarantee that you won't die in levelling, though!

The EB / MoM tree actually has more DPS with W&S than PoH because you can get Necro Aegis at the cost of 2 passive points. Then you run Victario's Charity for frenzy/power charges.

Yes, SD are #1 for no gem swap. Their spell is already an aoe which gives them decent map clearing and they hit very hard. You can see how I run straight into the boss room with SDs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaD5slUdtyE&t=543s

The other spectres shoot a single projectile, so with GMP they are very good for clearing (will offscreen clear). But, it has a '26% reduced damage', so a white socket + gem swap is advisable for endgame bossing.

4L: RS, SE, MD, DM
5L: RS, SE, MD, DM, EF
5L: RS, SE, MD, DM, EF, CE

You could substitute Inc AOE for CE if you have a 6L. There should be more than enough DPS without the 'more damage' from Conc.
