When are we getting an optimization/performance update?

Did you buy a bootleg computer from Wal-Mart or some shit? My PC is from 2014, maybe 2015 (too much alcohol). My fps is in the triple digits with max settings. Perhaps you just infected your PC by visiting gay porno sites everyday?
Game looks absolutely beautiful on my 4k screen and graphics maxed out. The only time I really lag is due to server load at peak times. That doesn't hurt my FPS though. Running on an Alienware 13 R3 with the external graphics amp nVidia 1080.

Runs great on my extra gaming laptop which is a Sager with a Core i7, 16Gb ram, and nVidia 970 as well and my sons which is a Dell gaming laptop with a Core i5, 8gb ram, and nVidia 960.

I can tell you one thing....

I notice a HUGE difference when I am running over wired network versus wireless in the lag department.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

The ability to think a couple of rational thoughts before transforming your frustration to letters seems lost on the youth of this era. Sadly.

Is the graphic in PoE bad? No, no it's not. You can debate the art style as much as you want, as that's a matter of taste, but the graphics are more than OK.

Does PoE run perfectly? No. Is it a huge problem if you have a decent rig? No, no it's not. There's a million things you can do yourself to make PoE run better. But I can see why people rather make fun of you, if we look at how you presented your "problem".
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
OP, saying your 'PC' is from 2015 and comparing PoE to a 14 year old game like HL2 is not helpful at all.

I'm not being a jerk but you have given us zero information about your PC specs.

I am going to guess you have integrated graphics, which are by design, still dog shit in 2018 (or 2015 in your case). Or if you have a low-end graphics card (under $80) its not going to perform much better.

PoE is a demanding game. There are a lot of demanding games out there that your PC will not be able to handle.

With a decently affordable GPU, like a 1050ti, PoE looks amazing.

Don't blame PoE or its developers. Don't compare it to HL2, D2, or other free to play garbage that is optimized for junky integrated graphics. Its your rig. PoE was never designed to run on weak machines. Its an ARPG loaded with graphical eye-candy. And yes, it looks amazing if you know what you're doing and get a decent GPU.

Your PC is under spec'd.

I got new pc:

1050ti oc
ryzen 5 1600x / 12 treads
8gb ddr4 ram
ssd 250gb

inet: 120mb

I know not the best gpu or cpu.
Still get nice fps, visual effects.

BUT ping spices and dc´s kills whole game.
weird. i'm running on a old PC built 6 years ago

ping varies 20ms - 40ms

cpu is a old 6 core amd running at 2.8ghz
only 8gb of ram
120gb ssd
and a old ati hd6850

game runs fine for me and looks great

OP must be running integrated graphics on a department store model pc/laptop
I'm personally owning a RoG G752VT

CPU : Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @2.6GHz
RAM : 2*8GB DDR4 PC4-17000 @ 2133MHz
SSD : 128GB
GPU : GTX970m
Internet : built-in wifi chip/TP-Link's TL-WN822N (Usually 20+MB/s download, and 8MB/s upload)

There was ONE game for which I experienced lag on the same level as I do when I play PoE : Dark Souls 3, and it was a year ago, when the 2nd DLC released. And the game's optimization is trash.

I can play Nioh at highest settings without a hint of lag (be it solo or in multiplayer), overwatch, warframe, and several other games, both recent and old. For the most demanding, I'll settle for mid tier graphics, as I know my setup can't run higher.

But for PoE, I have everything on low and I lag like crazy. Even walking in my empty hideout seems to be taking a huge toll on my CPU/GPU.

I'm going to try the suggestion that were given on the first page for better performances, but please, stop thinking the game doesn't need optimization, when it could clearly benefit from some.

Ping is usually 50-60ms (playing from Canada), and every now and then, it randomly drops to 200-1500ms.
And I say randomly because this happened while I was doing nothing in a zone after clearing it, walking in my empty hideout, or fighting enemies. And I have NO WAY of knowing when that would happen.

There are a lot of things that this game has for it, but optimization is far from being one of those.
I runs POE from my PC built in 2014.

POE runs fine but nothing more than fine. Occasional crash and freezes.

While you can't blame GGG when it is an indie developer but not it gets funding from a big sugar daddy, it is time to think about optimization. There is a shitload GGG can do to improve the game to be not "RoG" or "Alienware" exclusive.

How you manage to lag is beyond me... Ive Locked mine, but without i'm at 250-300 FPS with everything maxed out... You playing on a 15 year old laptop?

how? i used to have 100+fps a few leagues ago, now i can barely get to 35fps in fights.

For you with lag and stuttering, have you tried running the game in Predictive mode? Lockstep which is usually the default unless you have high ping (100+) can make for a painful experience unless your connection to the server is less than perfect. Predictive is working really well these days, with almost no signs of the desync issues of old.
