Probably same as Hall of Grandmasters map meaning hard content for no surprises. That is the "working as intended" motto of GGG. Make uber bosses for the zone/map level of difficulty that are very rippy and then get no rewards of any value (all vendor trash).

I haven't read everything, but one thing that kinda irritates me is the often expressed sentiment that the opinion of people who haven't bought 15 supporter packs is somehow completely worthless, as they're only pampered babies whining for "freebies".

a) I am spending my time on this game. That is worth a lot. Both to me and to GGG as having more players play the game has value. I've brought friends to the game who have spent money, and kept advertising it even more. I've sold thousands of 1 chaos rings and amulets late in leagues to make the game more enjoyable for newer players, even when I was decked out with a Headhunter and piles of Exalteds in my stash. I've offered advice and free stuff to newer players, in order to make them enjoy the game more and hopefully stick around. My time has value. I just does.

b) I have never bought an armour skin, but I have bought stash tabs. Pretty much everyone who posts here has bought at least some stash tabs. The game is not "free", as you cannot actually play it properly without investing some amount of money. I admit that it has a rather generous trial period, but it is still not free. I've spent what, 80 dollars on this game? 90? not sure, but something in that ballpark. That is most definitely not free. I think I am entitled to quality content.


That out of the way: IF i do decide to play the league, I will probably still get these rewards. I will almost certainly never use them, as they suck, but I do like collecting stuff. Still, if there had been a frog to get, or some other cool pet, I'd have been excited to play. Now I'm not. Its silly, but that's the way it is.

GGG live and pay they bills selling MTXs, you can't expect FREE MTXs to be better than paid ones. Nothing wrong with that. Stop being stupid :)

do you know how *free* works? imagine these mtx were good, especially the 36 one. it increases player retention. the longer people play, the more mtx they might buy and the more new people may be dragged into poe due to a more active community.

and there are some people who don't care about mtx, play with default everything and get some cool mtx from challenges. suddenly, they may be interested to bling bling their char a bit more. it is in ggg's interest to make good challenge mtx.

Well GGG, you managed to screw it up big time with these ugly challenge rewards. A lot of people have announced their intent not to play the league - they most likely will not buy the supporter packs either.

Lets see how Tencent will cope with that - they should let the GGG team do stuff the old way, because now you just decrease playerbase (at least for this challenge league)

To be honest looks terrible, 3rd league in a row with terrible mtx and challenge rewards :[
