What did Elemental Hit do to deserve this upcoming nerf?
Ok, so I just logged on to PoE and saw this revamp announcement and as a long time user of Elemental Hit; I decided to check it out and see if GGG finally going to buff it's damage and hopefully give it some graphic effect of it's own when used ( would look good as a purple or rainbow ish color of how Ice Spear or Storm Cascade appears). However in true GGG fashion of +1 step forward, x steps backward; this is no different. Yet another unnecessary nerf among the long list of many before this one. Who comes up with these nerfs and "buff" ideas?? Sick of my builds / chars being rendered useless cause of these nerfs. I have made 2 -3 builds focused on elemental hit ( yes I actually make up my own builds and not follow the crowds, :-O imagine that)
New elemental hit : Uses ONE random chosen element and deal no other damage..... Sound familiar?? It continues to not do physical damage but now has the nerf of not being able to do MULTIPLE elemental damage on top! Just a single one. Chance to shock, freeze, ignite goes up.. ok and?? It's not buffing any flat damage, so while yes it's useful to make adjustments to gear and tree stats for inflicting ailments; the fact still remains IT'S A NERF!!! Old/ current elemental hit: Uses all 3 elements at the same time and deals no physical damage. Cold, lightning and fire damage is dealt out. Not very strong in itself vs other flavor of the month / streamer hyped skills. I currently use all 3 elements ( focused on one / two while having the last converted to another) That damage from the others is still there and stacks. If I do 3k cold, 3k fire and 5k light (11k total) now; that means in the future I'm going to lose out on 2 of those elements! GGG let's stop the fuckery, if I really wanted to use some random off brand fraudulent version of elemental hit, i'd have gone with Wild Strike and be done seeing as it does the same thing. Only thing is Wild Strike is restricted to melee (go figure) so, now you're turning Elemental Hit into an alternate version of Wild Strike? Wtf sense does that make? Also, WHYYYYYYY IN TF would you restrict us to using ONE element on a multi element skill??

As for Wild Strike I was / still am highly opposed to the change made that converts 100% physical to elemental but that's another post for another time along with other pointless nerfs , recent and past i.e. Sextants, Skills, etc
I just KNOW someone else has to see this crap! If an EH user (typically wander or bow) wanted to use a SINGULAR elemental damaging skill, there are plenty of others out there. So again I ask why nerf Elemental Hit out the blue?? I rarely post, but when I do it's important. What a post! And here I was almost making a post how Elemental hit is completely bonkers and going to be broken!

it wont become meta anytime soon but with those jewels that let you focus in 1 or 2 elements and the small aoe is a step in the right direction to make it a good skill
it has some nice sinergy with uniques like the tempest, windripper, frostbreath and the likes. self found league fan

Ele hit currently only chooses one element on the skill, so while it is true that added damage won't always work (though effectiveness has gone from 100% to 188%) the damage from the skill has just changed to be consistent and allow easy use of EE.
The aliments change also includes more damage per alignment which should ramp up damage. Lastly the ele damage on the level 20 gem shown is about the same as a current level 30 gem. Sorry if I miss interpreted sarcasm, but I would recommend you more closely compare the old and new other wise. Then again I could just as easy be reading something wrong. |

" I'm no elemental hit pro, but the old elemental hit never used the 3 elements at the same time, just 1. And you could repeat the type of element, now you never have that (great for EE). If it did physical damage, they had to turn down the elemental damage, and then it would be just another skill. This one is to be used for fast weapons/elemental weopons, ignoring their damage, contrary to most skills. Thus creating more possible builds. If it would be great or not, i don't know, but what you are saying doesn't have any logic. You are a elemental hit pro right? Enlighte me then? Ps: I'm not trying to trool you, just trying to understand xD |
