Tencent has Invested in Grinding Gear Games

"Will Path of Exile become Pay to Win?
No. We will not make any changes to its monetisation on our international servers. "

How the fuck is this so hard to understand?
The Chinese server has been far different from the international servers for so long, and now it's going to be a little more different....
How will that affect us that don't live in China?
NOT. AT. ALL.

Sure, we can all concern about supporter packs and what not, but it is in complete ignorance that a lot of you are worried about "PoE dying" and/or becoming p2w.
People have had problems with the Chinese server for over a year now, every streamer/youtuber hasn't had the slightest problem with it, but now suddenly PoE isn't worth playing anymore because some dudes in China play the game slightly differently?

For now, I would say, it's a pretty bad move, but that´s based on the given info. At the end of the day, making profits is what corporations follow, so on a medium term, if we, players, will not buy supporter packs, how the corporation will act? Usually new management team will come in place of the old one.
However, if Tencent did this move based on chinese PoE and is limiting it's influence only to the chinese version it would be more understandable.Extrapolating a bit, chinese market is by itself a global market, so with proper content, yes, I believe, Tencent can make a hefty profit on the chinese side.
But, at this very moment everything is just pure speculation.
Sorry for my english, not my language.

Not for nothing but I wouldn't apologize for your English anymore it's near excellent and far beyond most native speakers.

I´m sure there is a logic reason for this step.

I think GGG have plans for a huge improvement/addition for PoE, which can´t be paid by supporter packs and "small deals" alone, or maybe additional games or even PoE 2!

And I´m quite sure, that they expected this reactions by the community.

I´m curious what comes after this step, don´t have to be a bad thing...

But as a friendly warning: Don´t even think about P2W elements! Not on the international client! When I see something like that, I´m out!

Way off topic on my part but fuck Greust.

It's where we all come back to. Fuck Greust.
Chris you couldn't negotiate a similar deal like Epic Games where Tancent only owns 40%?

I hope you're enjoying your margaritas. Sincerely they are well deserved, but long term you really fucked your game and company.

I can’t buy any more big supporter packs because the forum only supports showing 7 legacy tags.
"Tencent has invested" is putting it mildly, don't you think? In reply I must say, fuck tencent.

Let's not pretend here that chris and the other founders were forced at gunpoint to sell their shares.

At the end of the day all I see are a bunch of kiddies who know absolutely jack about investing, Tencent, or how the process works in regards to Tencent's ownership based on other multinational games. But can you blame them? Most of the people here haven't invested in anything outside of food. Let the kids cry.

These are the top four ways to sound like a jackass, just for reference:

1.) Name calling of those who hold opposing views.

2.) Make assumptions about those with opposing views.

3.) Belittle those with opposing views.

4.) Pretend you know more about a topic of debate than others.

And on a personal note, I have a life: married, no kids, own and maintain a house, and PoE isn't the most important thing in my life.

I liked your explanation, same situation so I stole the quote.
