That is the stupidest thing I have hear today. Congrats. Both are grounded in real life, both use real world money, with that comes influence and opinion, support or the lack thereof.
It's all human shit man, all of it. You don't want them to effect each other because YOU want an escape.

Thats a good joke, Tencent even writes it on his banners to do so.
Especially with their social score crap and data collecting... (and providing to Chinese gov.)
BY THE WAY: Fixed the threads title

I just hope that GGG has a legally watertight agreement that states that they will control the games development ethos and direction no matter what.
Well Chris has mentioned that he spoke with several CEO's of the companies that Tencent has acquired and they basically let the companies do what they wished and didn't interfere with game design....
Yea, as long as things are going well sure. When it starts going downhill though...

Edits to the last post were made, I'm getting tired. Same general gist, just expanded upon.

I would just like to know two things.
1. Just WHY sell majority of your shares to a Shitanese company, they are your bosses now...
2. Why not sell just 49% or something like that, to keep GGG as the major share holders?
I expect cheap league packs, and removal of supporter packs. Along with HEAVILY reduced prices on everything, since the extreme pricing no longer goes for this game after 10c became the boss.
Nothing i feel entitled to, just how it is really.
You left the indie scene, in a bad way. Hopefully the game will stay true to it's core values
and led properly by the right people.
LOL, dream on, supporter packs won't be leaving and I highly doubt any price reductions are gonna happen

You invested in the game and you got paid back with the time you spent playing it during the time you invested in it. Don't overestimate your value. "We are the reason they exist" is dumb because not only are you in danger of the other party calling you out on that, but also you going through [with quitting] just to find out you "quitters" were a minority that didn't affect the end result much.

We do care about it, but you don't stay on a sinking ship. You get in the lifeboat.
Are you familiar with the term "self-fulfilling prophecy"? It's when awareness of an event-to-happen is a prerequisite for the event to happen. You hear something bad's about to happen, you start preparing to avoid it, those preparations end up being the thing that made it happen. Imagine the irony: players assume PoE is "sinking", they run, PoE "sinks" because of the player outflux. Of course, those people would never actually find out they were the cause. Or believe GGG if they were to claim so at a later date, regardless of whether it's a cover-up or a fact.

This is a thread about a company buyout (not an investment when it's 80% shares) and the people who have supported the game for years and are essentially share holders themselves as they are the ones that invested in the company via supporter packs and should be pissed when the game goes in a direction they are not happy with.
To say that they are just whoring attention is like saying employees shouldn't be allowed to voice their discontent when a company sells itself to a competitor who will just shut down their plant.
That example is poor comparison in too many ways: PoE's owner didn't announce a shutdown, you're not a GGG employee so you don't get paid and losing it doesn't threaten your well-being, those workers can't switch between jobs as easily as you can switch between games....the list goes on. Way different impacts.
If you want to voice a complaint - do it. But yelling "Fuck Tencent, so by extension Fuck You. I quit." isn't a complaint, it's a tantrum of a 5-year-old who got their toy taken away. And that's what alot of negative posts are at the level of. If you can't put your discontent in proper words - "Box. Your stuff. Out the front door." and so on, and so forth.
When names and adresses of company owners start coming up as a....what would those posters call it, anyway? "Retaliation"? "Justice"?...., that's WAY over the line, let alone "beyond voicing discontent".

The wording you are looking for is witch hunt and those should be avoided as witches aren't real and you did just burn people you know nothing about.
Factual opposition, not attacking individuals. Don't be that dude/dudette.

It's good that tencent has invested in GGG, so we can weed out some of you immature idiots from this game.
