New player feedback on Labyrinth & Game in general

Lab is completely optional and not story-blocking for new player. If someone feels that experience is too hardcore he could just ignore it.

This oft used line, that of the lab being completely optional, is patently false. To extend this ridiculous sentiment to its conclusion, the game is optional so why are you playing it.

With the power and skill synergies that Ascendancy adds to a build, supported by the fact that, in addition to the Bestiary aspect of the league, a major part of 3.2 was an Ascendancy rework much anticipated, and discussed, by the community, one can no longer say with any seriousness (and no irony) that Ascendancies are not SUPPOSED to be a part of the core gameplay experience.

Again, I am mostly indifferent to the lab, I put up with it but do not really like it, so I am not casting for a side here. But this "optional" statement needs to be put to bed.

Everything you said makes no sense for a new player. If player is good enough to understand build-enabling Ascendancies he should be good enough to run the lab.

To make the access to the eternal labyrinth more predictable, I propose a mechanic that allows to summon a map containing a trial.
There is a prophecy for that.

Good point.
It is still a random source in SSF but at least it can be traded.

I am not sure, if this is true for every player, but lets assume that you are right. Please go ahead and make a video where you skip all labs and kill Kitava. This would be a great guidance for new players not able to run the labyrinth. :)

That was laugh out loud funny. Thanks!
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

You can do it by yourself, I don't see any difficulties. Moreover, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of existing players who first complete storyline and then all labs. And as I said, if you're not sure - you can always run lab being overleveled.

All of what you said or you could just spend time playing the game and figuring out how to overcome difficulty instead of removing it by using suggestion forums.

But I guess we need to strip it down so that you then can complain that the game is too easy and there is nothing to do.

Yup, lol.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
Just a thought:
I hate trial, but when I finally get through I feel very rewarded.
This thought come always to me.

A lots of time if something is not too hard to get it's seems pointless.
The Ascendancy are meant to be a Core mechanic on which you build all your character around.

POE is also not an easy game. A lots of things have to be studied and planned. For example watching some "game mechanic" video tutorial and learn what you are fighting and prepare for it.

that's said, a lots of build have to wait higher level to achieve their last ascendancy point.
But, make a Lab that can be done from all the classes with the same difficulty it's, I think, impossible.
POE offer too much variety and style of play to be at the same difficulty for everyone.
If you want achieve that you need to have a Flat boring game.

For the new player, if they see that they have picked the wrong guide/class and they can't progress, pick a new one, and in one week you are good to go.

Maybe I will. Can you please give me some of those players' names to ask them for advice before trying it?

You can always ask your questions in this thread in case of any difficulties.
