Oh jeez! You don't want to reduce damage, so you're reducing damage. Why not just say directly you're nerfing it and reducing the damage? Too simple? Too straightforward? Think people can't handle the truth up front? Adding a projectile doesn't compensate for reducing damage when not all Barrage projectiles hit since they're in a spread and not all in a single file line. So now its maybe 2 of 5 projectiles missing instead of 1 of 4 missing (before extra projectiles are figured in). So, taking a perfectly fine skill and just drop damage by 20% because you think too many use it? Yep, that's an improvement all right!

Instead of finding ways to fuck over the good things people like in the game, why not focus on making some of the bad things actually good? Or at least less bad? No one has a problem with Barrage, so there is no need to revamp it. If you want more bow users to use different skills, then make other skills more appealing/interesting. Don't make the skills people like less fun. If 100% of Path players want to do Barrage builds, so what? Let them! Screwing over things people like to get them to try something else, doesn't make them want to try something else, it makes them like the game less! And given the sheer number of other games available on PCs (nevermind console games, or mobile games!), liking the game less means losing players all because you want to force people to play stuff you want them to play instead of what the players want to play!

I myself playing now for quite a time now. at least my Steam and my feeling says so. But actually the way PoE and GGG want to go, are to make people getting creative and not to stagnate on something,.... Like GGG described is it near to impossible to make other skills as powerful as Barrage cause of it's extreme kind, so they had to nerf it like most of the so nice skills in the past and every time it hurt, till mathil or someone else showed the world a new also pretty easy way to encounter the game with the same skill or something completly new just cause that is the Path. Inventing new builds and chars with kind of endless possibilities,... Some people think PoE serve to give people a constant feeling of boringness and infertility like Diablo is serving it, as example. GGG want you to force you, to use other skills to get some kind of new experience in and about the game.

And so the Game itself will improve.

You said rain of arrows could not compete with other bow skills that pierce late in the game. How competitive is it now as far as clear speed for mapping? Would love to see some video of rain arrow clearing some t14 or something to put this into context.

I honestly don't care about any of this anymore until the garbage uber trials are more common. Everytime I get to that point, I can't bring myself to continue playing this fucking slot machine.
So far, don't see anything interesting or exciting about all these "big skill changes" tbh.

Ppl use barrage because this is the 1 and only single target Bow/Wand skills.(Ok, you can count blast rain as single target, but without 100% conv it sux + how does point blant work with blast rain??)

Maybe add some more single target options so there won't be problem with "barrage is everywhere"

This shit won't solve the problem. Barrage is still only 1 option for Bows/Wands, the biggest problem here is fact that GGG want's everything to be equal, Melee champs - same dmg and life as Casters/Rangers. And now they are nerfing Rangers because they "does more dmg than others".
Wooo-hooo, in next 2 leagues the only difference between skills will be their Art/Effects.

Buff base movement speed to compensate, put all movement skills on a 1-2 second cooldown. These ideas are probably not the best, yea i know. But anything man.

Maybe im talking to the wind here or maybe its irreverent here. But PLEASE consider a movement skill/movement speed rework.

TLDR; Please make skill revamps - part 4, be about movement skills....


I hope you read this:

Go try a fight like shaper or elder, their slam abilities require fast movement skills. I think my first character last league was dying over and over to elder, then i put in shield charge(ONLY CHANGE) and did it deathless
