Hi, i'm having a good time with this build, although i'm very confused about the 1H + shield approach. This is what i have for now. I just recently bought this 6L belly and idk which 6th gem to put in, thorn between maim/ruthless/empower4 (but if i go with emp4 it would be better to just switch for a +3/supported by minion damage helmet, right?). I don't have PoB, too complicated for me:)

Would the +26% Melee Physical Damage from Born to Fight apply to the skeletons?

It would work, but it really isn't worth it compared to the implicit on a bone helmet. "To dust" is more than enough, and with the cap of 10 skeletons I think this enchant is a bit lackluster. It may be a little more convenient if you end up using an amulet with +1 skeletons or if you do not want to use to dust, though.

This is a lovely build.

Managed to get 2.9M effective DPS by your calculations without factoring in the curses and buffs.
With better gems can touch 3.2M.

Also, swapping Ruthless for Maim can boost dps (avg. 4K per skeleton) as well as provide permabash on eligible bosses.

Finally killed shaper. Died once as i did not shield charge far enuf to escape his one-hit melee.

just started on a higher end upgrade. Still a ways to go, but once I get all of my gear corrupted I should have as much if not more life than with kaoms, along with all the extra dps, fortify, block, etc that I will be getting.
