You can get a quick boost on DPS/etc by buying some failed level 20/0 corrupted skill gems... 20/0 Vaal Skeletons, Carrion Golem, Zombies, Spectres are all 2-4c

Carrion Golem should be in your +2 minion helmet, to eek out some extra base phys damage on your skeletons...

You can adopt the currently accepted Dread Banner + Generosity aura ++ Impale in place of Feeding Frenzy on your skeletons, for a DPS boost.

If you're plugging your character into POB, make sure to go into configuration, and turn on Power/Frenzy charges, Enemy is Maimed, and Feeding Frenzy checkboxes... these make a big difference on the calculations...

Another common discussion, lately, is removing Fortify/Brutality from your Zombie Links, and adding Animate Guardian, for another boost to DPS and survivability... just animate Dying Breath / Kingmaker + Leer Cast + Victario's Flight + Ambu's Charge / Belly of the Beast + Southbound / Vulnerability on Hit gloves... the first option is cheaper, in each case with multiple options... Animate Guardian can have weapons, and regular armor slots, no jewelry...



Vulnerability on Hit gloves ? can't seems to find any on poeapp, sorry for the noob question, would you mind linking your research so i can buy some cheap one ? maybe i m not putting the good parameters : /

I just read the WHOLE thread today and I am impressed. I thought I knew pretty well the minions builds and I found out that I did not understand many aspects of it. I am also impressed by the few players who spent a lot of time answering most questions. It is a great sign of generosity.

I have a very simple question with a long preambule:

A while ago, I gave a try to 2x Carnage and 2x Chieftain for frenzy and power charges. Of course, the link was : Raise spectres - Minion life - Blood magic. I found out that most of the time I had 1-2 power charge and 0-1 frenzy charge. Rarely I was to the 3/3 charges.

I just tried it again tonight and of course, it was the same thing. very seldomly I have 3/3 charges. I noticed I always have more power charge than frenzy charge. (My maps are quite full: I chisel, alch, corrupt and sextant.)

Am I the only one who has that issue? Is it normal?

I can't say I've noticed that one. I'll run a few maps and keep an eye on my power and frenzy charges.
I need help here because I'm stuck in act III

Is there something wrong with this description?, because I bought 4 linked helmet ( white)
Next it says

"When you find your helm, use an orb of transmutation on it if it isn't already magic. Then grab that life flask of animation we made in act 2, and sell it, the helmet and an orb of alteration to the vendor. If done correctly, this will give you back the helm with a +1 to minion gems mod on it."

So yes I used orb of transmutation on helmet and he became YELLOW sockets are B-B-B-R (looking at the top hole blue then to the right blue then down blue and left red....should that be opposite maybe ?? starting from the bottom? bottom left blue then right blue then up blue and left red? I'm confused here) and when i put that helmet and that flask from act II along with orb of alteration vendor want to pay me for that 4 scrolls of wisdom and 6 alteration shards ....no helm with a +1 to minion gems mod on it. So whats wrong here? are you sure those gem links have to be B-B-B-R??? because when I look on your gear i see R-R-B-B and i just started this game I dont have tons of chromatic orbs to experiment with that I have only 4 orbs so I'm stuck because of that.

I’m usually at 2/3 or 3/3 and when in delve, it’s a permanent 3/3. I think the main reason might be that your mobility is too low and you are not clearing fast enough (getting to the next pack of mobs) so your charges fall off. With my shield charge setup, I’m perpetually at max charges.

I saw you dont run Brutality gem on your Skeleton setup but you run Ruthless and Mulitstrike instead, is that the way to go for bossing and only tech out Multi for splash for mapping?

And the +2 gem on helmet is not that important as the OP said? So its better to get a +1 summon instead?

just spend a lot on my helmet :(

Jesus, now all they need to do is buff the spawn rate of conquerors. Seems like this fix was a buff to necros.

Zombies are usually near me and don't hurt stuff much. Therefore Brutality on them is kinda useless. Slotting Animate Guardian here can be much more profitable.
Also dropping your CWDT Spirit Offering setup is a big hit to your survivability I think. If you feel fine with it okay, but maybe at least remove faster casting for Spirit Offering.
In my case I removed both faster casting and Flesh Offering to put the 3L CWDT setup and be under permanent Spirit Offering. Losing dps from not having Flesh Offering but then again I'm at 2m... moving Pride to Essence Worm ring to free the 3rd gem and more importantly make it reserve no mana, crucial in a Mind over Matter tree.

As I'm saying above in my setup I dropped Flesh Offering to be under permanent Spirit Offering, which adds a lot of extra chaos damage. With Brutality I'm missing out on Chaos damage so it's only adding about 30% more dps, so Ruthless becomes better for me. In a pure phys setup with Flesh Offering Brutality is normally superior and also deals its damage more instantly, so better for clearing.
For clearing I take it out anyway for Feeding Frenzy. 2 gems to swap therefore, which is why I'm running 2 6L weapons for easier swap. 2nd weapon with crazy minion move speed and even more minions for that clearing speed. That 2nd weapon setup is losing massive dps though, but I can just press X and get back to 2m dps per skelly at any time.

As for the helmet, if you check it in PoB the +X socketed minion gem only makes the Carrion Golems have a bit more life and dps themselves (irrelevant I think) and add a bit more flat phys dmg to skeletons. In a minion build flat phys dmg like what you could also get on a Ghastly jewel doesn't get mutliplied by all the rest, so it's adding maybe 0.5% to your dps?
For the 3 prefix on helmet I personally prefer Minion dmg support (comes with % all minions dmg), Life, +1 skelly.

I wanna go play a more active build but necro is just too stupidly strong and resilient at the same time. ^^
