" its not 'idiotic', its just the truth... " ...because in opposite to your counterexample, skipping those new nets has exactly NO impact on your actual gameplay (and no effect/relation to 'other changes' you may have wished). For the 2nd part of the first quote: I didnt expect that 'final' upgrade recipe for these nets, thats indeed silly and fully opposite to the idea of making them 'rare'. (I voted for rare nets) And for the change on the net prices: while the jump to the transmutation orb seemed too large that early, all nets for the 'main' game are very affordable IMHO, but 1 chaos for each of the tier 10 nets or even 1 alchemy for tier 9 can go out of control very quickly if you need to buy additionals while not in currency farming 'mode'. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

I 'love' this half-the-community attitude:
can't farm Shaper? - you too stupid to make a proper build can't farm ULab? - see the above. can't farm red maps 5 days into the league? - same Oh, just go to the market and buy the stuff, you whiny baby... Not all content is intended for every casual player, you know. Now. can't catch a beast alive on a red map due to an all-blasting top-farm-build? - oh, GGG, fix it immediately! Ta-daaam - yes, please, here are your necro-nets, our dear market suppliers. Am I alone to see the double-standard attitude, hmm? |
|
" It does affect gameplay. Poe is NOT a single player game. If necro nets are the most efficient way to capture all red beasts without any risk whatsoever do you expect anyone to try and capture with the old nets? Just like adding stygian vises into the game impacts all other belts in the game because its not enough to say 'hurr durr you can still use your other shitty bases'. Its out of control only in a ssf league. Sextants were not self sustainable. Essences are not self sustainable. Buying gear for your char is not self sustainable. But if you can buy them and its still optimal to buy in bulk and turn a profit without using any other nets, then yes they've turned all other nets obsolete. Btw, just had a cracking league idea. Since our beasts are there in the cages, having nothing to do all day long, before they die, why not make them mate and replicate?
I mean, we've got roah's nests, why not steal eggs and grow our own? Why not add beast den's and steal ape and wolf cubs? And why not make a prison master and catch rogues? We are in Oriath as a matter of fact. Let's play sheriff))) |

" This is an online game so everything is connected like a tripe soup, if you can't capture monsters well you're supposed to buy them from those that can, just like you might have had to buy breachlord fragments or blessings in the past. This will have a direct impact on beast prices and demand once trading goes live. Heard it well, this will directly affect my ability to support my tribe as a boar hunter of some renown and you say it has no impact. GGG, remove this before it's too late. " It is too late. Sorry boar hunter, but this is the roadkill league now.
" You understand how statistics work, do you? There is slightly over 50% that voted in favor of such solution, therefore, it was implemented.
Reddit is great for ascertaining what the current majority sheep opinion is. Which a marketer cannot ignore.
But it is a perfect example of quantity over quality. You will find the most thoughtful posts here on these forums, because they are the ones that go against the herd mentality, and those get quickly voted into oblivion on Reddit. Personally, I think GGG should continue trying to do what they set out to do--make a great game--and take ALL feedback with a grain of salt, and also judge ALL feedback on the basis of its content and not the number of people delivering it. Kind of like reading a game review, innit? Or a review of anything online. Relying on numbers alone is the fastest way to fuck yourself over. xkcd says it best, as usual: Wash your hands, Exile!
