Important: How We're Changing Capturing
In group play, just make it so if one player nets the beast, everyone gets credit (within normal xp range). If cost is an issue, then have group play nets that are slightly more expensive. Frustrating to miss your net before the beast is gone, or because you've not quite caught up to the beast once it's already killed/netted.

I agree with that it is kind of silly to change it now. This capturing mechanism is a bit meh, but it has its own charms.
Im also angry because you decided to favor speedclear in this league too. It was pretty refreshing that you need to actually do something other than oneshot the whole screen. While you did not give a sh!t about pepole who struggled with the timed speedclear bullsht of the breach league, which also denied a lot of build options. I think you should implement these kind of leagues in hc or ssf where pepole actually play the game, not racing like idiots (btw i played neiter of them ever, and still saying this). Extra crafting posibilities are welcomed there too. From what i see you are making decisions, that makes the game one sided, short (2-3 week), powercreep and trading sim. You should have the courage and make the decision. Speedclear or a slower, but richer experience for players. While Chris talks about, how they should slow the game down, and making trading harder, and how selffounding items are more enjoyable, i cant see any sign of moving in that direction. Why is that? Ty GGG to sort this out, in fact i noticed that is very difficult to aim for the right monster to trow the net. is so hard to capture it in fight, too many monsters.
i found it some time frustating not be able to trow the net on the right monsrter. ty i want to subscribe

The current mechanic would work fine if there was not such a big damage disparity between builds in this game (and not just this thing)... Too many multipliers. One has so much damage they accidentally kill the thing they wanted to capture so they need to throw net and DPS it first, someone who has 2-3 multipliers less has annoyingly long fights against high HP enemies that were put in there for high DPS player, but has no issue with current capturing mechanic.
Capturing dead beast would be against the spirit of the expansion. I would vote for throwing net on beast and giving time window to dps them without fear of killing them if at the same time beast can be captured if net is thrown on low life one for those who have less DPS (because I doubt you would balance the damage in near future). Another note - the designer who went wild designing menagerie should have been directed at making new hideout layouts and decorations and add some cages where you can hold a captured beast if you want in hideout (or not if you don't want to). In menagerie only relevant area is blood altar area. Please try to recognize when something can be integrated in existing features in much more elegant way. Being able to capture dead beasts removes the entire league mechanic of capturing the beasts. It converts beast capturing into just a more annoying way to pick up currency items.
On a side note since you didn't announce the challenges in their own thread ever, getting 36 is going to be a really tough order for people that don't play the latest OP builds. It would be nice if you thought about challenges completed by individuals instead of completed with currency. For players not playing flavor of the month builds, there's probably over half a dozen that may not be attainable. I'm also sad to see multiple of the challenges gated 100% behind Zana mods (getting access to harbinger or perandus is required for them). |

" ever been to some costume party where it turned out it's just a party - no costumes? ggg just tested the willingness of their players to adapt to challenges and failed. either players are reluctant to choices or totally trapped in the elite groupthink of reddit. not wondering if both is true, ggg changed their target group to them some time ago. you can't have interesting new game mechanics AND make it viable for all builds. except you just ask for "kill this boss, kill that monster. which is hardly interesting. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! The only solution is capturing dead beasts.Not only because some types of builds are just unable to do so (summoners,totemers etc) but also to leave these new beastly affixes working,and the beast itself being a danger for the player.If a beast is 3s stunned then all these are gone.
I have just lv 21 Duelist and event at this point I have serious issues to capture a beast in time.Those will become even worse as it will progress to use Cyclone + set of counterattacks on block + bleed/poison/ignite. |

I really hope that the dead-nets have a failrate - cause if not, concentrating for alive captures will just feel dumb. And please make it a rate that will make it worth concentrating...
Or the nets reeeeally expensive. Aside of this, i think you took all the problems that were said a lot and found really good solutions for them. I am thinking of trying to marry you guys. |
