3.2 - Wrecker of Days - Super Slow Motion - Explained and Designed to Take New Players to the End
This looks amazing. A friend who's never played PoE before (lot's of experience with Diablo 2/3, but mostly casual) wanted to play this league with me so I'm looking for a build for her (if you're used to relatively simple D3 guides, the PoE forums look like a completely incomprehensible mess at first...) and this seems to check all the boxes.
One question for OP or anyone else with more experience with this kind of build, what kind of build could you recommend to run together with this? I'd like to pick something that works well together, looking for skill/playstyle synergies, preferably with different gearing so we're not constantly looking for the same gear pieces. |

" Hey! Thanks for the kind words! The Insane thing about this game are the limitless possibilities of character building you can do. Build that I think would be really neat just became available with this current 3.2 patch. The Templar has the Guardian ascendancy. They changed Harmony of Purpose. Harmony of Purpose not only shares all your charges with your allies (minions and SRS included) but they added a really easy way to get your charges...in the same node. So all you have to do is hit enemies. Everytime you hit an enemy you have a 10% chance to get one of any of the three charge types (you'll always be full of charges). Just be sure you're using a skill that hits (so not a damage over time skill). The rest of the Guardian nodes benefit allies too. It'd be pretty sweet. Minions actually have a greater benefit from charges than users do (https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Charge#Effects_on_Monsters_and_Minions). I'm currently trying this out: https://pastebin.com/6LyD6P3C (If you have the Path of Building program downloaded). It's just crazy for all the charges and aura nodes. Not sure how I'll fair end game. But that's one of MANY ideas. This Pastebin link I'm just trying out though. I don't think it'll last end game too long without someone's aid (like your friend). But that Guardian ascendancy sounds up your alley considering your request. https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast Last edited by Wrecker_of_Days#7691 on Mar 5, 2018, 12:07:35 AM

Thank you for the extensive answer, that sounds really cool and exactly like the "synergy" build I'm looking for! Just hope I understand this right (because so far, I haven't done anything but follow builds by the letter myself), so I'd roughly follow the build you posted and use something basically just to hit as much as possible to stack up on charges for the minions/necro player, correct? Any suggestions for the gem setup for that character?

Greetings
First of all ty for this guide,i am using it so far and it works great but sadly i have a problem. I was so focused on finding gear with the links needed for the skills and not for sats that now i am stuck at end of act 5.I have 1.1k life and low resistance and really soft. What should i do,im new, havent played this game a lot over the years so i do not know wha to look in gear for,i only looked fo gem links and sadly now im stuck |

I like the way you explain things, you should make videos about POE in which you guide people through the game and all the hidden features like damage calculation, recipes, Vaal areas, atlas, crafting ...
I play for two years now, but I am honestly still clueless about so many things and the videos on YT, are often a bit short without that much detail. ZiggyD was quite nice though. |

" Hey! Thanks for asking for help. One of the hardest parts of the game is the first playthrough of a league; more specifically, the part of that playthrough where you have to start choosing between your survivability (resists) or links. It's hard for everyone at that stage, so don't be discouraged. (Starting is act 6 you'll lose 5% of your XP (on your character, not your gems) when you die.) You have a couple options: 1) Keep on pushing through. Act 5 and 6 (Oh gosh act 6 is rough) can be tough without max resists. It can be frustrating. As you push through (die, progress, die, progress), keep gear that has resists so that you can switch to it for fights that you find rough without them. Better gear starts dropping very soon. Some of the quest rewards coming up give 3 linked rare armour as well. 2) Backtrack a bit. IF you were rushing to get through the game maybe finish the secondary quests just to see if some helpful gear drops. Backtracking though is lots of work for the short term though as the items that drop will be lower level. 3) Try buying some cheap gear from someone https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search. Don't be picky. You don't have much to spend. Just get high resists, who cares about the rest. Remember to add in the filter the maximum level requirement (your character level). You don't want buy gear that you can't use until you're level 60. 4) Don't start spending your currency on crafting yet. Save them for buying online until you have good resists, life, and links. 5) Maybe buy Purity of Fire/Ice/Lightning/Elements. You'd have to sacrifice one of the mana reservation skills you're using, but it may help bigtime. I hope those help. I know they may sound like obvious suggestions, but it's the hard part about first playthroughs. My suggestion is keep pushing forward. Pick up all currency and rare gear. If you're not going to use the rare gear, ID it, and sell it to an NPC. Use the currency to buy rare gear with resists online. And have a Purity of Elements ready to go, just in case. Let me know if that helps or if you have other questions. Good luck! https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast

" That is a very nice compliment. Thank you. It's such a great game. The build ideas a really endless. But the game can get so complicated that those who like to maximize their RPG builds can get flustered, even with weeks of research. Many end up in our shoes where even 1000 hours into the game, they are still learning about gameplay mechanics. It's intimidating. But it's awesome. I really want new people to be able to come into the game, learn, progress, and be able to understand enough of the game that they can make their own builds that carry them deep into the end. Thanks again for the kind words. https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast

First and foremost thank you for the build, I am enjoying it alot.
My question centers around the offense stats in the char window - what stats do we look for to recognize any kind of damage increase. I'm only lvl 30 currently but each time I change gear and or weapons I notice damage change --> example: I have the Queens Decree 2 hand sword unique = 116 damage in char offensive window I also have in my swap a claw & shied = 217 damage But it appears the 2 hand is better --- ideas/comments? For those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know. USMC - Vietnam 1967 - 1968 - 1969 Last edited by Ishkabibble#7519 on Mar 6, 2018, 1:48:31 PM

" Good question. For this build, because it's themed your only option is Singularity ;). But the neat thing about minions is that they get NO stats from you. The only thing that benefits minions are mods that specifically relate to minions. So, if "Staff A" says, "Increases damage by 30%" and "Staff B" says "Increases Minion damage by 30%", only "Staff B" will increase your damage, not staff A. So adding up minion damage is nice and easy. It's additive. (Now, YOUR cast speed helps with SRS only in the fact that the faster you get 20 SRS out on the battlefield, the sooner you can move around and be defensive.) Another thing to keep in mind though is that Minions are considered Allies (when you're looking at mods and nods). Regarding the character window within the game, I actually don't use it to determine my minion damage. You either need to trust the stats of your gear and tree or use a planner (I use Path of Building (once you click on the link, scroll down. It looks intimidating, but it's not.)). You'll notice once you have Hatred. You may have a DPS listed for SRS. If you do, whether you have Hatred running or turned off, your DPS doesn't change...but it should. All that to say, you can't use the Tool Tip (Character page) for accurate minion DPS. So with what I explained here and in the build, use whatever weapon you like. Sometimes, less damage and more defense kills more than high damage and lower defense. But honestly, I like to incorporate shields for no other reason that shields are sexy. Captain America? Pffffft, awesome. That scene in Wonder Woman where...well, every scene in Wonder Woman? COME ON! I'm just a shield guy. If bigger the better interests you though and you're not going to follow the build with Singularity, try 5 or 6 linking a Femurs of the Saints. I hope that helps! Ask more if you like. https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast Last edited by Wrecker_of_Days#7691 on Mar 6, 2018, 9:20:01 PM
