Announcing Path of Exile: Bestiary League

Ahh, I see they've changed the Berserker to a true 'Attack' class. No more easy spell leeching :(
Is there any valuable drop on uber elder? Disintegrator, what else? Its that T16 elder? Or we need a corrupted shaper guardian Frag to enter on Uber Elder? Well i guess its on only T16, just to get shaper orb and shaped T11. About the league it sounds like Talisman league, make a harder challenge GGG not a money talk challenge. Many players always gone after 1 month its because 40/40 is only matter on league. I dont know why other player waste there time on poorjoy just to get lvl 100.
Well, to be honest I would never expect some kind of pokemon stuff in this game. Anyway I'm very curious how this will work and at least wanna try it out for sure.
I personally am feeling very uncertain about the whole capturing beasts, it just sounds like it's going to get super old, super fast. But that's just my opinion.
sad thing is AW totem berserker will be not able to do a content... :( , in new league you need to capture monsters... but totems mostly kill all monsters in 2-3s no chance to capture them... also with this build is very difficult and not nice to complete Vorici tasks, especially keep target alive ;] when he like to die in 2-3s :D , we will see...
I have mixed feelings about all the content showed.

The bestiary league:
It seems like essence type league mixed with some zoo idea and crafting behind.
The results should be powerful enough but according to the showed staff I doubt about it.

I wonder how it fits current speed meta though.
Having bestiary in PoE is a cool idea but I haven´t seen any monster stats there.

The Uber Elder Ok so we have four versions of the Elder now white, yellow, red and Uber.
I have thought Elder and Shaper are fighting with each other so what´s changed now? I am confused and it´s not really an original idea (probably inspired by the Uber Atziri).

Revamped Ascendancy:

Instead of rebalancing them we got new set of skills/utilities here. I smell new level of power creep here but I am ready to see what´s behind the scene.

New gems:

Summon phantasm: I am not a fan of on kill effects/skills but whatever.
Spectral shield: Shield transformed into projectile is weird to me and this skill seems broken anyway.

New Fated Unique items:

I am not a fan of fated unique items anyway. Unused unique items should be rebalanced without making them fated but better than nothing.

Other:

Elder´s orb - I smell it will be gated behind uber Elder. Any map means unique maps also? It would be interesting.
I see many new weird skills connected to special rare/unique items. I think it makes things more complicated but we will see.

I think adding new stuff is cool and all but we have too many relics from the past unchanged.
It will make all things even more complicated.

PoE used to be dark and scary place but things are changing too fast and I have mixed feelings about it.

I think we need more consistency and rebalanced things that were added to the game in the past but we will see after some testing how it goes.

Yeah, still don't agree with the new direction you've been going with challenge league supporter packs. From 60 bucks every second challenge league to double that every single challenge league. Really would have been nice if you at any point explained why this decision was made, perhaps some kind of understanding could have been garnered.

And that is aside from my issue with releasing challenge league supporter packs with every single challenge league, which, you know, was originally not how they were presented and justified. But hey!

They learned from the last supporter pack and provide from both packs a low tier variant. So, you basically want them to remove one pack? So you can... what? When you don't want both packs, than just don't buy them or just get the lower tier of one pack.

Let them release MTX and Packs like they want. I wonder why peoples get annoyed about that. This is their main-income. And you are not forced to buy that.

How would the game or the world be better, when they only provide a weapon mtx for 10 dollar. would that be better? Would it make anything better?

So, some issues with your response, as many things you bring up have nothing to do with my point?
First, they already learned about having a low-tier variant for challenge league packs almost two years ago when the very first one was sixty dollars and people wanted a cheaper option. My issue, however, is not at all with these, so I'm not sure why you brought them up.
Second, I did not even mention microtransactions, only supporter packs, and the "no-one's forcing you to buy X" is completely irrelevant to the point. As is your hypothetical at the end.

So, anyway, here's the thing. Originally, the entire idea was that the challenge leagues that get their own supporter packs were the ones between major content updates, such as Prophecy and Breach. Because the challenge leagues that come out along with major content updates tend to be more simplistic in nature, since the main focus is meant to be said content update, and the challenge leagues between major content updates are more fleshed out, receiving more development time and resources.
Also, to compensate, the highest-tier supporter packs would be lower in price, because things like in-game content, at the time Divination Cards, would be things you could opt into if you had the highest tier supporter pack, rather than being an auto-include.
This was how the challenge league-specific supporter packs were justified by GGG.

As such, pushing out challenge league supporter packs with every single challenge league is obviously not in any way in line with that. Not only that, but with Abyss, they've doubled the amount of challenge league supporter packs on offer from 60 to a total of 120 dollars - something that is apparently here to stay, judging from the Bestiary supporter packs. And very simply put, it seems like a blatant cash grab on GGG's part.
And there's not just this, but also, for example, following up the Fall of Oriath packs immediately with the War for the Atlas ones, rather than the old pattern.

Supporting GGG is a lot easier to do when it doesn't feel like they are trying to cash in as hard and fast as possible by pushing out both more supporter packs, and pushing out supporter packs more frequently.

Now, if GGG perhaps presents some kind of reason as to why they went back on what challenge league supporter packs were once supposed to be, or why they are pushing supporter packs harder and harder, perhaps I would be more sympathetic. Even if their explanation is "we need more money to fund our rising development costs because we're pushing development of new content far too hard, gib us moar monies plox." That at least is an explanation of some kind.

If other people are happy shelling out 120 dollars for just challenge league supporter packs every three months, they can do so. If another group of people is happy shelling out whatever other amount they want to whenever they feel it's appropriate for them to do so, that is also fine. As you think it's important that one is not forced to buy that - these people are also not forced to not buy that.

I, however, am not okay with this practice on principle, because when challenge league supporter packs were initially sold to us, their introduction was justified to us in a particular way.
At the time, I accepted GGG's justification.
GGG, however, seems to have unilaterally gone back on this justification, without any further explanation. I am free to be unhappy about this, and as a result not getting any supporter packs that seem to be a breach of the understanding GGG once established between themselves and their players as a basis for challenge league supporter packs.
I'm curious what the vegetarians think about all this animal sacrifice.

I've only skimmed through the announcement.

Mechanically, I'm really excited for this Pokemon approach. But given my rather sensitive human nature, I hate the idea of slaughtering my beasts to fully utilize them.

No need for a discussion, I know this doesn't make much sense, but it's been my first thought. I actually question myself if I want to play this league for that reason. Probably yes, but I won't like this part. You could instead remove them from our possession by setting them free as a peaceful solution.

I feel the same way.
Kind of weird, since I don't really care about killing thousands of monsters in maps. But capturing and sacrificing animals is messed up IMO.
