Announcing Path of Exile: Bestiary League

So we're getting conversion trap as a league? I fear this leagues content is keeping up with the trend of annoying stuff gated behind timesinks that efficient people will ultimately skip, or to put it bluntly a failure. Fingers are crossed but historically stuff like this is poorly blanced and the RNG its gated behind leaves 99% of the player base feeling salty. I am really hoping were not supposed to read packs and actively search for mobs while mapping, because what ever timesink trapping mobs is gated behind is most surely already going to be toxic.

Based on this, I remain on the fence. If "capturing" animals is a distraction from gameplay and isnt fluid and is obnoxious, then yea a league of standard for this guy. Which is fine. I actually really enjoy standard, and I think it is important for GGG to try new things. If lots of people dont like however the style of gameplay is in this league, that will be reflected to them when they review the numbers, and they wont make a similar league again.

I await more details!

God, the amount of bile and vomit in this thread is truly awe inspiring.

How dare the developers introduce a league into the game where I am forced to do diverse content instead of running the same god damned map a hundred+ times a day on my custom sculpted atlas. The cries of bring back my x grindtastic favorite league where I did boring shit over and over again to get more currency are hilarious.

Do you know what kills games? Stagnation.
Do you know what you encourage when you stop playing the game as an actual game and play it as a spreadsheet simulator like so many of you seem to enjoy? Stagnation.

I for one can't imagine playing a game like some of the "dedicated" streamers and self proclaimed pros of this game do. When someone asks you how you manage to run a map with your inventory open while you are sorting shit and your reply is along the lines of "Oh I know it so well I don't really pay attention to the screen..." you have effectively devalued the effort that went into and the meaning behind the product you are consuming.

So...the new Fox's Fortune combined with Chaos Inoculation = teh wins???

I've only spent $20 on this game so far. I shall now begin spending more. Bravo, folks! GGG hasn't just mollywhomped D3 into irrelevance - they've made a gear farming game that continually has replay value...and I honestly didn't think they could ever keep it up.

Meeeh. This really feels awfull. Imma skip this legue.

btw. I don't get the point of view of some ... quite alot... players here.
They are BORED of the SAME STYLE content and PRAISE the PoE for NOT being the STREOTYPE. (end-game, etc.)
WHILE... on the other hand at the same time, they KEEP B!Tc**G about new, non-stereotypical FREE expansion/content... EVEN BEFORE... they ever F****ING PLAYED IT.

And if GGG would manage and create such content as the players QQ for, another wave of QQ would arise... MOANING about HOW IT ALREADY HAS BEEN ONCE THERE and that one is just a primitive REMAKE, bringing nothing NEW to the game.

Somewhere above this post, I have read some interesting (just kidding, it's not) statement, about how this new Bestiary crafting will become just some ignored part of the game sooner or later. and compared it to Prophecy... PROPHECY? WTF... in prophecy there was no crafting... This league's crafting is more like the LABYRINTH crafting.

I don't think 3500 evade is worth your single highest piece of ES gear no :p

I guess a Headhunter would be nice in this league because reasons.

pls ggg, make sure something like "too much dps", crits or uber-cull wont become a negative effect on getting those animals alive, it would be a huge pain, and definetly a NO GO to me.

i fear this will get very bad

I don't see how this can work with the fast clear speed meta. Are special mobs immune for a while or what prevents them from dying with everything else instantly. Are we supposed to look at every pack first? This Pokemon or Monster Hunter or whatever style of gameplay isn't really something I personally like and really nothing I am looking for in a game like PoE. I'll give it a shot but yeah.
