I got 5 runners. 3 of them lvl8 the other 2 are 7. No sword yet. what are the chances to get it almost the same time on all of them. Already have 30 hours with all of them.

Sounds tough. I farmed for about ~12 hours on a 3 char rotation and allready got two Onis :/

Second Oni after 10 Hours. First one roughly after 7 hours. So yeah this is not tough at all for me.
I wouldn´t care if it´s 12 hours or even 20 hours. I come from other games where grinding was waaaay more excruciating than this. To all the ppl who complain about droprates, I´m sorry nobody forces you to grind this sword. I grinded it and the hardest thing about it is to figure out what I´ll play as.
I don´t even know what I´m going to play now. And for some reason ppl got offended whenever I mentioned that. I think people are really mad about the fact that they want this item, but they can´t force themselves to do this mind-numbing task. So they get really mad at those who got the time and the resilience to put up with this grind. Somehow I see many ppl gloating or even outright insulting ppl who choose to farm this sword. Grinding Twilight Strand is no different than chaining Strands.

This is something I see myself doing EVERY league from now on. It´s not hard to farm this sword, it only takes time. The fight with Hillock is very doable as a Scion, I have MS speed boots on every character, a Tabula dropped and multiple other starter uniques. So this grind wasn´t even only beneficial for Oni alone.

Ofc I see others with less luck who are 30 hours deep. I can see myself starting to struggle at this point but tbh I come from grindy games where we had to grind for weeks to get one thing. The entire day. This really formed me as a player. I know I can go after the most tedious grinds and succeed.
Tbh I don´t think this is a "skill" to be very proud of, but I aquired it and I see that many others don´t have it but want the item badly. So the only thing left for them is to hate on the ones with determination and "no-life".

Still need a build to play though , lol.

I´m playing SSF and I don´t want to grind any longer. I got the sword but most builds use 2 swords weapon swap method. I´m looking up builds right now but most of them have some sort of requirement that I can´t meet as an SSF player, so I´m looking for a strong, easy to gear Oni build that gives me clearspeed and single target, maybe even with just a weapon swap.

Please post your suggestions.

i suggest u grind for 2nd oni sword...

since u oredi spent so much time grinding for 1st sword...

might as well go a little bit further n get tat 2nd sword...

makes the oni experience more "complete" n fulfilling...

Thanks for the suggestion my toxic friend. I hope it feels good to get some of that poison out of your system ^^

1 and a half hour playtime per character btw.

I wasn´t talking about you specifically. You were the first reaction I got that had my head scratching.
The reason why I posted this was because of some other guy on Twitch who went crazy and started calling me names just because I said that I was farming the sword and didn´t know what to play.

LOL! GGG allows power and speed creep into PoE over the last 2 years so now when PoE is a twitch shooter arpg (move/kill fast first to prevent being one-shotted) that someone on Twitch is calling you crazy for farming an Oni without a pre-defined build in mind. I have an Oni sitting in Standard not being used right now and the 5 I farmed in Abyss I also only had immediate plans for 3 of them at that time. I kept grinding then because I am a believer in The Law of Fives. The 5th one was as rng pain in the ass to get (12% into level 8) but it completed my desire for 5.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

I´m not making this shit up and it was more than one dude actually. Like I said before, certain people get really mad when you commit to something they can´t see themselves doing but still want the same rewards off of it.

The Law of 5 sounds interesting. I´m reading up on that now.

For now I´m levelling up another Necro to get a wildfire jewel ready for my potential Molten Strike/Frost Blades Raider Slayer Ascendant.

And I can see myself farming 5 of these as well.

Well I had 3 characters farming Onis and looted 2. 2+3=5.
Also, my Onis had 84% and 83% critchance: 8+4+8+3 = 23 --> 2+3=5

:O

I'm confessed! Praise Omar!
Templar level 7 (52% exp) 2hour 58 minutes
17 minutes took me to kill hillock
Get also tabula rasa so im kinda happy but fight was hard not that easy like Sion
Using Scions and got it at level 8 22% with 4hr 22min played on that character. Running 4 Scion rotation with ~ 17hrs total played time between the 4.
3 Oni's now. 2nd dropped at Lvl 8 40% with 5hr 6mins on that character. 3rd was Lvl 8 49% 5hr 21mins on that one.

Total played time roughly 22hrs for 3. Kept two with highest crit chance and sold third to get a Kaom's.
