[3.1] Volatile Berserker (Poet's Pen + Volatile Dead) | 8-9K Life | Incredible DPS | Easy Leveling

Here is my take on non-crit variation.



Tree


Pros :
- Bit more heath
- Reliable damage with easy procs EO for 40% more elemental damage.
- No need to invest in Watcher's eye jews for - 15% fire res which is cost around 2 ex.
- With CoH Flammability, mobs will always get -%44 fire res. There is no need for The Wise Oak ( A decent roll Wise Oak is around 13c).However, you can still use it if you want for another - 15% fire res on mobs. I prefer to use another flask as a replacement.
- Atziri Acuity is no need. Spend ex on + VD helm enchantment instead.


Cons :
- No crit muti

You will need a decent AS glove like this one

to cap your AS otherwise, your damage will fall off drastically.
I have another glove which I keep in my stash.

It curses mobs with Blind. An extra layer of defends. Pretty OP.
However, you need to use Blood Rage for extra AS.

Problem is that if you don't want to stack Pen, and you're not an Inquisitor, your damage is going to drop off significantly against bosses like Guardians, Shaper and Elder. Vaal Pact or Acuities are amazing for end-game, and honestly, almost required if you want to push in to more difficult content as doubling your leech rate is just too good to not get. Acuities are also a decent pair of crit gloves giving us almost everything we'd want on gloves.

Flammability is nice, though it becomes almost useless against bosses when they have 60/80% less curse effect, and by running CoH you're losing out on LGoH/PCoC/Blind/Culling Strike, which are all nice to have.

Wise Oak is great because it's very strong and very cheap for the amount of power you gain from it. Watcher's Eye is also very strong for the 1 jewel it costs us, no other jewel(minus like top tier 50 ex STD jewels) will really be able to match it's strength, especially if you can get a good secondary affix.

Your cons list should be longer than just "no crit multi".

Sold all the gear except left some gear to pop over since I brought the life leech as 10ex now is more than 10ex!

All I can say is take care guy good luck it can handle most of the map except - block chance . Resis etc etc

Over all my dps is at 51k with power and endurance up to 70k with flask up to around 80k tool tips

Yes, VP version is up to date. Acuities version is also very viable without Acuities, so if you don't affoard a pair of them right now, you can still play that version while you save up. That's what I did and it worked well even in to T11-12 maps, though our survivability is largely leech based so the faster you can get a pair, the better.

Hi, can you link some jewel examples? I'm not really sure what kind of damage i ought to be looking for in increasing this build's effectiveness, like is it spell, is it physical, is it fire damage? Or does the stat just say "Increased Damage"? Or attack speed? Sorry, kinda bad with identifying good equipment still after several leagues.

The link for the Vaal Pact tree says it's out of date. Some of the passives aren't showing up.

First of all, thanks for taking your time to reply to all these comments and writing this guide in the first place, its really appreciated!

I do have one slight question though. While I know this has been asked before (yes I browsed through all 25 pages), I wonder if Berserker is the right choice for going HC. I've seen a couple of posts saying it will be fine, as long as I go for Vaal Pact and MoM, while others say its too squishy, and I should opt for Champion (Duelist) as its closer to Vaal pact, and the permanent fortify would be awesome.

Could we try and and agree on the best choice for HC?

To sum it up, the Acuity's are too expensive on Abyss HC at the moment, so they are out of the question.
So I would need an alternate solution, (Vaal Pact + MoM I assume) + maybe some alternative uniques, and an alternate class to play (if Berserker is not good enough for HC).

Would someone be able to provide me with the potential best combo?

for HC I would go Perm IC with Hiero. Its absurd with 100% physical immunity
