Crashing a lot Info includes Dxdiag + crash errors
Hey so I posted a reply to one of the threads with pictures concerning my problem and inability to play path of exile since friday when 3.1.0 was released. I took the whole weekend off and what a waste that was.
What's gone is gone. I'm going to post the pictures here as well as my Dxdiag https://pastebin.com/Hj99xYrw This is the DX diag txt file And many many similar error texts What I have tried to do with no success are the following: ~uninstalled and deleted everything concerning path of exile including documents folder and reinstalled ~Downloaded patch from client, didn't work, deleted it, same goes with torrent and linked to steam and steam client gave the same errors ~uninstalled my video card drivers and reinstalled them ~downgraded my Direct X from direct x11 to directx9ex to direct x9. Also ran the direct X setup from Path of exile folder ~Disabled my sound drive due to crashes always killing my audio hardware as well and I need to restart for it to work again ~ Ran Packchecker in PAth of exile folder ~ Ran with --nosound as well as ~softwareaudio with no success ~ Deleted Minimap folder as well as Cache and shadecache with no success Last edited by edys007 on Dec 11, 2017, 10:38:54 AM Last bumped on Dec 30, 2017, 8:54:23 PM

I am experiencing very similar issues as well. Video Driver is updated. Verified Files on Steam. Uninstalled altogether and reinstalled. Nothing else is having issues The messages vary slightly, but are always about some game asset and DirectX Last edited by DocDecoy on Dec 13, 2017, 3:07:52 PM

Yep, similar crashes here as of the latest patch. Goes black and is followed by three such error popups before I have to force-close the client.

Sad part is that it is happening often enough, it is making the game unplayable.

same here....

The same is here - Line 262
It happens very often. Sometimes I have to open&close the game for 2-5 times befor it lets me load the location. This is very annoying. Also since relase of 3.0 game all the time freazes during loading. Dont know what to do. Last edited by Apachy on Dec 13, 2017, 4:09:11 PM

I wish I can help you guys, but yeah its really weird.
I have a gtx 670 and thought the card is the problem and was so close to buying a new one but here in Canada, once you open a video card, you have to pay a restocking fee to get a refund. I wanted to replace it badly but other games don't give me these errors, despite them being more demanding than poe (right?) Anywho so I tried Other methods and still didn't work Methods I tried ~ reduce clock speed by ~50Mhz ~ Did Every single step on this webiste https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/solvednvidia-display-driver-stopped-working-and-has-recovered/ ~ Reduced my resolution greatly (hey poe is not about the looks for me just the feeling of killing millions of mobs very very fast) ~ Uninstalled Nvidia experience as well as afterburner NO LUCK! I mention all these methods because i want you guys to try them, it might work for one of you and you can enjoy the game
Thanks for the update edys007.
I've done all of that (except the drivereasy stuff). Bottom line is that this is not a system issue. It's something to do with the update that is affecting specific people. It would be nice to get some feedback or direction from GGG. I'm fairly willing to try anything and I'm pretty well versed in troubleshooting. Until then, I'm looking at other games to play.
No problem, i have managed to make it work but i don't know how that would last, so far i've done 8 maps without crash but i'm playing slower. i will try to play faster and see if it does
So basically if you look at my previous post, and follow the link you would do all these methods and then Restart the computer. Then go into the game and play in windowed mode and make it even smaller until you've had enough and then play. I'm not sure why that worked so far on the 8 maps but no crashes so far. I will update you guys when i hit 30 maps going fast paced and seeing if it crashes or not. I'm also in contact with support by email so i will update you on that as well. Resulotion 831X600. :D Last edited by edys007 on Dec 13, 2017, 9:04:36 PM

Computer froze and required a hard reset on the 11th map, 3rd map playing fast paced. Yup I'm done for today, leaving it to support.
Sorry |
