What happens when you let an algorithm write the 3.1.0 patch notes

"Iron Will can now Leap Slam." I just pictured a bunch of Iron Will gems with the text box above them, Leap Slamming around everywhere. Dunno why I found this to be all too funny.
"Players can now smack around players who are having trouble very early on."

Reduced the damage dealt by the trade API.

Haha really cracked me up :) maybe a new idea for a 10-day event: try to implement as many of those as possible, however crazy :p
Still better than "real" patch notes.

I thought this was going to be an apology to the community.

Instead it's just a Joke thread being posted when community management should be involved in the feedback section addressing or at least acknowledging the issues.

I've been through training camp 101 on how to make a start up games company and the thing that sticks with me time and time again from those seminars is one line.

"You must treat your players as Marks/or Numbers, because that's what they are. Number generators for profit. Never lose sight of that".

And to date I've never seen a company break that rule.

I had hoped. But hope is for fools.

lol, gtfo. They ALWAYS post these algorithm written patch notes. They are hilarious, and I look forward to them every patch.

Apologise for what? Making an amazing game that they continue to build upon and pour countless hours of their time into for us? It's not a pay to win game, they aren't milking their consumers like EA. Shut the f*ck up and unwad your panties. GGG is an amazing company and have fuckall to apologize for. In fact I would like to apologize to GGG right now, for the community containing people like you in it. Sorry you have to put up with shitbags like this, GGG. You shouldn't have to deal with their shit.

As I can see you're young and haven't been in the business at all. Your communication style shows that. The point of my post is that I had hopes that the CM would be actively addressing feedback. This is not the case.

Many times when a CM is recruited they are essentially a buffer between community and Developers / Publishers. I've had the pleasure to see one go because they outright had no clue on how to interact with the community.

I've seen CM's fired for actually not following the company firewall and speaking their own minds. And others that just flat out disregard any protocols and directly lie to the community they are supposed to foster.

You are correct "they" always post these kind of threads as a "oh look over there something shiny.."

My hopes were that this wasn't the case with GGG.

Unfortunately one league has shown the balance of community and reasoning of common sense and transparency of Developers. The score isn't bad, however it's not great.

Being a CM for 10 years on the side, I've seen it from all sides. The tropes unfortunately are still around.

100% legit !!

why this wasn't posted as official patch notes ?? We would not see so many complains on forums today
YES I support the game, NO I don't agree with many GGG decisions

Lab still sucks balls.

I miss Zana already.

Sorry sweetheart but this was manually added. I cant and wont believe that this came out of a Markov Chain generator.

I'm not sure what warrants an apology from GGG. They balanced the game -- parts of the community (always) jumping to "the sky is falling" does not necessitate an apology.

At best, you deserve the patch notes with a short explanation of the most extreme changes (which they attempted to do in the Manifesto). Expecting an apology is a level of entitlement that I can't even comprehend.

FYI - My favorite build was the recipient of the nerf hammer as well but it will survive; because some of us enjoy adapting to a changing environment. RotP was certainly not on any radar for being nerfed, but boom...it is done. Time to adapt.

The only apology the CM should give is the one apology that my wife says does not count....

I'm sorry you feel that way.

I ran the patch notes so far for War for the Atlas through a Markov Chain text generator and wanted to share its results with you.
