When creating a build, there are other factors to consider other than obtaining the highest life and DPS totals in PoB.

Dropping Spell Critical Strike Chance for Cast Speed is a +0.5% DPS gain on paper; however, since we are reserving almost all of our mana, increasing our cast speed will cause Dark Pact to stagger thus resulting in a DPS loss. We also want as much Critical Strike Chance as we can get without sacrificing too much DPS because it allows our build to sufficiently life leech without Cloaked in Savagery and it activates Culling Strike from Marylene's Fallacy.

Dropping Method to the Madness for Throatseeker is actually a +0.09% DPS gain, however, I don't think that small of a gain is worth the loss of 12% Chaos Resistance.

Dropping 2 points from Evasion and Life for Life gives us an extra +44 life and slightly more damage, but I choose to increase my evasion by 1% instead to be able to better mitigate larger hits - as evasion is better in this regard than is armour due to the way armour damage reduction is scaled towards damage.

Look at ur tree n gear u don't scale evasion those are ur only evasion nodes. With my POB u have 25% chance to evade 3.2K n with ur tree 26% at 3.5K evasion. If u wold understand how evasion work u would know that at ur lvl of evasion its really useless.

Also on the 20% crit chance node removal..... Really its a drama for u lol 1% crit chance. And pls don't tell me about ur mana management 5% cast speed u won't even notice it lol. That little swap is just more dmg.

Also i think u should rethink the entire evasion stuff. Unless u have 10K or more its pretty useless i wouldn't say its a layer of defense cuz at that lvl its nearly the same vs boss has if u had nothing + evasion only work vs attack so vs shaper more life is strictly better.

much better thanks!(overpaid by 7 exalts for it) Having a few survival issues at the moment, my evade seems much lower than yours, also not sure what to upgrade next, i'm attempting to get a 30% crit/34% chaos ring but I'm new to crafting. I got the ring with just those 2 + the crafted 16% crit but havent had any luck with my exalts so far :/

Don't worry about evasion too much. It's just... there. What exactly are you dying to? At this point, you're definitely strong enough to take on Shaper as long as you learn his fight mechanics.

Your next upgrade should be 21/20 Dark Pact gem, followed by 21/20 Assassin's Mark. Then continue with the other gems. Your rings should be good enough until you finish upgrading your gems.

minotaur the times I've tried and died once to hydra, can I not just tank the shaper like you did? What would I need to do that?

Ok! That's around 3 exalts so should have that soon. bit gutted with my ring luck so far but hopefully I can learn to craft a good one after I get those gems. thanks for the help!

Also replaced Cont. Destruction for Inc. Crit and using mostly Mutewind when mapping for those sweet HoI explosions lul, pretty smooth so far

6.7k hp, surprised i didn't die yet considering i drop pretty low all the time, with a few more levels and Enfeeble + Rumi it should get reaaaally tanky. Want to run uber but gateway is fucked, constant 200-300ms no bueno
Got lucky with the Chest, 40jew to 6S and 300fusing to 6L, first 6l as well.
