I seen that in strand on boss area once, 5 out of 6 players dead about 2 sec after bosses died something exploded but no totem around or living mob. I first though it was DD but nope. Maybe invisible volatile bug?

Tormented martyr? Enemies touched by them self destruct on death reminiscent of the old volatile mechanics. Yeah you said delayed explosions in the OP, but I'm not leaving out any possibilities.

However, since you mentioned delayed explosions, there's only 2 things that can do that: Stygian Revenants and corpse explosion totems. Since you claim it's a map inhabited only by skeletons and necros, then it's definitely the totems.

The only option left are the zombie nobles. On death, they launch their screaming "soul" at you.

Of course there's the other option that GGG added a new map mod or two that cause corpses to have delayed explosions on death, but you'd think that would've been mentioned in the patch notes.

Maybe it's a skeleton buffing a friendly target to explode after death and it goes on the necro. Whatever it is, it's lame. I swear i've been studying monster descriptions and watched them act in the maps where this invis corpse explosion occurs and still haven't found out wtf that shit is.



Revenant - type mobs cast it (giant spiders, that can also shoot barrage of white projectiles and raise skeletons).

Nope it wasn't stygian revenant(those didn't spawn in map), nor the martyr(though that martyr is insane as well). It was after everything else was dead.

I just wanted to hear if someone else had figured it out, it seems there is something i don't exactly know what is doing these corpse explosion in 3.0 i have noticed them many times only this time it actually oneshot me.

I guess if i can't find a good reason tt must have been either a detonate dead totem, although i think the entire area was cleared and i don't think there was even totem mod on the map, or some fucking other retarded shit some weird combo for volatile and im braindead and not noticing.. but i don't think so.

And it doesn't seem to be a common issue since only you are experiencing it.

edit : invisible effects do happen, but extremely rarely. When you see a volatile, kill it and run straight true it after killing to proq and escape the explosion.(or shield charge/whirl blade true the volatile component)

Even if it's invisible, you will still not die to it.(though honestly, invisible visual effects happen mostly on leaving the instance and re-entering and extremely rarely so i don't think that's the culprit)

Those scorpion skeleton things can sometimes do unusually high explosion damage. Have been hit hard by one of them in A10. Probably after killing it but dont remember 100%. Not sure whats causing it or if it can happen in maps too. Vaguely remember reading something about area overlap of their explosion skill.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
Had the same issue recently: no mob on the screen, suddenly the whole party goes boom and dies. And that included my RF build with maxed fire resist and >5k hp. Which means the corpse explosion had to deal >35k damage, which is totally ridiculous.
