Octavian's Blight Trickster Build - Cheap, tanky, effective, and scalable into the endgame. S

Hi,

The jewel socket for spreading rot in witch area doesn't seem to work, there was only 30 int
They've changed the wording on threshold jewels, the attributes no longer have to be allocated in the radius just availble.
Just came back to this build last night and finished the campaign and started mapping, after hitting a rut in the 60s where the clear speed was feeling too slow and things were getting tedious and unfun. Some thoughts for those that are thinking about this build:

1) Build is a blast, but leveling can be a bit of a chore. It became a real slog around Act 9 - too many jumping and swarming mobs, and even with Abyssal Cry up, you can't hit everything surrounding you. The lack of good AoE becomes evident and won't smooth out until you can get a 5th link or equip the gloves. Probably should have just stuck to Bladefall the whole way through, but I don't like builds that can't be played during leveling.

2) Things really took off when I hit 68. I equipped Breath of the Council and The Unshattered Will and had to a bunch of re-coloring. Even though AoE was still lacking, damage output nearly quadrupled so just a quick 360 twirl was melting everything in sight. One level later I equipped the gloves, socketed Increase AoE, and the content, other than Kitava, was trivial.

Highly recommend the build and hats off to Octavian and others that helped develop it. It's super powerful and the regen makes it feel like playing old ES builds.

I've been playing this build in HArbinger and it's been very strong throughout. I actually started with a CI Occultist Witch for Blight, with Wicked Ward and Xirgil's Crank for the block/recharge synergy which worked wquite well but I came to realise it would need a lot of investment into ES gear to get beyond low tier maps. Around then I saw Octavian's video and decided to give it a try.

I had a five-linked Xirgil's Crank and a level 2 Empower so as soon as I hit L28 I could have a L9+1+2=level 12 Blight which was over powerd at that level, aside from the low-ish area. Levelling from there with Blight was easy, I just took life nodes and area nodes and pretty much ignored damage nodes and rolled over the content. Nearing 69 I picked up more damage nodes and as soon as I hit 69 I swapped to Allelopathy, Breath of the Council and The Unshattered Will which gave me more damage than the 5L set up I had in the staff. Since then it has just been growing in power.

For killing bosses, I usually swap Increased Area of Effect out for a suitable level Arcane Surge

To Ocatavian, thank you for this build, it has been great fun.

What about 4Link in glove+6Link ED? Blight and ED have same inc,i think it is batter then 6Link Blight with EMP

Hey Octavian :D Quick question, does the life regen from trickster not show up in tooltip?
NVM. I can't read no goods.

what you are suggesting is better for leveling, as Contagion + ED is just way too much satisfying. Blight is better than ED for single target even with glove sudo 6L.
I can recommend it even with 5L ED in your chest. Gloves are just way too OP OP to use for something else than Blight.
