Chaos Recipe Shenanigans

I hear people say all the time to drop the Chaos Recipe. Is this perhaps the reason why? :P
Spoiler

Amulets be damned, I am going to fill this tab one day XD. I know it's probably more efficient to just run tons of maps, but RNG hates me when it comes to pure chaos. I can get every other currency under the sun here and there, but no Chaos. Hate having to trade for other currencies to Chaos, especially this early in the league when prices are so awful.

roll maps with rogue exiles. they're the best bet to drop jewelry
most people fill a tab or two with jewelry before they start collecting armor to vendor for chaos.

If you can stomach them, Lab runs with lots of loot chests can drop a ton of jewelry. Obviously it needs to be a good layout day, but running Merc lab is free and fast.
I decided to grab all the armor first just because by time I have enough jewelry to mass spam the recipe I'll likely be in maps that are giving Regal recipe items. I have actually rolled about 4-5 maps today (one I didn't have to roll, it was Zana daily with 4 rogues in it :D ) with rogue exiles. Didn't get a single rare amulet though :P Might have to get lucky with grabbing a prophecy for rogue exile dropping all rares.

Another method is to pick up white base jewelry and just alch it. If it is good, sell. If it is bad, use with recipe.

This.

The chaos you make from the recipe offsets any costs of buying alchs to make that jewelry. Pretty easy really.
White bases drop A LOT. You can get like 3 or 4+ from each map.

I don't use the chaos recipe. I used to do it and it's miserable and tedious work. I've done a lot better economically since I stopped doing it and just focused on making good builds that clear faster so I don't see myself ever going back to it.

Same deal with the chisel recipe.
The reason you see people say not to do it is the general time it takes.

First you have to pick up all of those rares.

If you fill your inventory in the middle of you map, you have to port back.

Then you either spend a little time organizing it, or dump them in randomly, and spend time later picking out the different pieces to vendor.

Then the actual vendoring.

If you need a little cash, it is a reliable income source. In the long run though, not the best way to make tons of currency.

So you use three alchs to get rare jewelry, which ~= 1c. That's 50% of the reward. yeah. You will be rich in no time.
