Developer Diary - Music in Path of Exile: The Fall of Oriath
It's nice to hear that music is getting much attention in this expansion. Will acts 6-10 have all their music completed by the time 3.0 launches ? The diary makes it seem like they will be a work in progress.

music is the main reason i started buying supporters packs. however, after some improvements in engine related to music i can barely hear music in the maps. yet in hideout, or in login menu it is very loud. dont remember about towns, i dont spend time there.

I like it how you can kinda find the Belly of The Beast influence in that Solaris vs Lunaris preview. I like it but at the same time it concerns me. And here's why:
The people in Highgate, the peacocks there, buildings and the music all have an oriental feel to it. And those instruments and sounds carry on to the new main theme and to act VI? Has the Maraketh culture spread out everywhere from Highgate now that they don't need to guard the Beast anymore? Or is it just an unintentional byproduct of wanting to keep the new compositions in line with the old ones. 'The oriental feel' doesn't really fit the Templars and most of the game outside act IV so maybe the main theme should also avoid that? --------------------------------------

A lot of music enhancements to the game are lost on me, and here's why:
I get tired of listening to the same music all the time in my hideout. And so I turn it off. I could turn it back on every time I enter a map or log in to a character who is still playing through the main game, but most of the time I forget, or don't bother. A thaumetic music machine (music box) for the hideout would be a good addition to the game for people who like to listen to different kinds of music in their hideout, but it is arguably even more important for the rest of the game, for the reasons above (I am certainly not the only person to do this). I think I'll make a post in Feedback about it now. Edit: Done. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1917750 Wash your hands, Exile! Last edited by gibbousmoon on Jul 1, 2017, 9:43:54 PM
