Ideas to Fix the lab

Ok i know for a fact that many people are unhappy with the lab.

So i have some ideas on how to increase the popularity of the lab.

1) Remove the 1 death count crap.

2) If 1 is not allowed than allow players that have lets say 6 trials done to have 6 tries if they want. If they don't want 6 tries than when they die they can reset the lab.

3) Give check points before each boss that you can re spawn too again with out the 1 death junk.

4)Remove the trials and add another way to get the extra points.

5) remove the trials for unlocking the lab. allow all players to have access to the lab at the end of act 3 BUT if they completed the trials give them +1 death for each trial completed.

Right now the people i play with hate the lab becasue of the ease of getting 1 shotted and having to spend X amount starting over.
This game is not designed to have a 1 try BS. I mean come on you can have unlimited amount of gear and still randomly get one shot killed. De sync issues are still HUGE problem, game crashes are still a problem, lag is still a problem. all of the above all prove my point that this game is not designed for this type of game play.

And if you do want to play like that than play Hard Core.

I don't want to loose my character because my hardware or connection fucks up, that doesn't mean I want to die all the time.

If anything I'd say death penalties should be way harsher. Creating a proper (defense:offense:sustain) character is the main goal in arpgs.

People who are just here for the dopamine fix should maybe consider clicker heroes instead.

do you want maps to have infinite portals too?

death should be a penalty, it should have meaning. that doesn't mean you -have- to play perma-death, but the labyrinth rewards (especially merc and uber) are too beneficial to just let you have at them as much as you want.


what level are you attempting each lab?

No offense, but these suggestions all suck.
Buff the lab - it's too easy.
I'd much rather see more mechanics that emulate hardcore in the softcore leagues. One death limit is a great introduction into the concept. I wish maps worked like this too.
lab is OPTIONAL. If you think you gonna suck... don't do it.
I disagree with the suggestions. And in beta, lab has been if anything, too easy. Ascendancies shouldn't be a given. They are very powerful, and should have these kinds of penalties. I'm on the more casual side, and took ages to get mine (don't have uber lab yet on any character), died a lot in merciless, mostly because of lag and stuff, but still think the one death thing and then restart is a good idea.

If you have problems with lab, there are always people in global offering carries, or you can buy carries at higher levels. Thus, it is not shut out for anybody. Trials are not hard at easier levels, and good to have as a challenge at higher levels. And you can always outlevel them. Or bring mostly bleeding life and other flasks. Most of the damage is bleeding in the trials, after all.

There are ways to get around it if you have trouble. Nothing wrong with having challenging trials and labs.
Maybe he wants Cast on Death build and farm Uber Lab...
We were talking about this in global a few days ago.

Id like to see a currency added to give ascendancy points to people who dont want to be bothered to run lab. This currency would have a drop restriction to only drop in the difficulty of the lab its giving points for(normal lab for normal ascendancy points). This rewards players who run lab but also gives people who find the content a chore to do an alternative that costs them in a different way. The more people who dont want to run lab, the more rewarding lab will be for the ones who do want to run it.
