I haven't read a single thing about the Maim support. Do you guys not realize it's essencially a 30% more multiplier at lvl 1?
Since enemies take 20% increased dmg means you deal 20% more dmg, 10+20 is 30%. There are no drawbacks on the gem either, and maiming is great defensively too.

For those of you that cannot see the purpose of Brutality, as one who loves making builds more than actually playing I'd like to share with you some possibilities.
it's not more MELEE physical, it's just physical damage so it can possibly make certain items shine and certain builds flourish, especially those that struggled to find needed damage or sources of synergy. It also opens up new potential builds for people adventurous enough to try them out. Know that just because a gem might not be top-tier, it doesn't mean there won't be many people who'll enjoy it.
Static Strike, Lightning Strike and other attacks that work in two parts could benefit from a gem like this. Static Strike with Multistrike and Brutality could apply poisons and bleeds more effectively for example, since the shockwaves/projectiles do both lightning AND physical. Maybe Deadeye Rangers that can chain lightning arrow with their ascendancy could rapidly apply poisons using Lightning Arrow and Brutality. Physical Bow builds in general benefit from Brutality, and who knows? Maybe someone could find a way to make a Glacial Cascade poison/bleed assassin with Brutality while using glacial cascade's gore mtx?(that's stretching it abit but still.) Or have the gore mtx on lightning arrow and make a lightning arrow bleed build maybe? These new gems grant many more possibilities.
People have fun at least trying to make a cool, unique build and Brutality just opens more windows for them. Personally it's my favorite gem right next to Unbound Ailments, I like that one too. I'll be trying out that lightning arrow build too when the new gems are out in the beta.
I will definitely try to adapt my main dual wielding RT Static Strike Jugger for a Phys/Phys + Bleed variation, so Brutality, Maim and Chance to Bleed are welcomed additions...

Bleed is affected SOLELY by the weapon's physical damage now-- what the skill's physical damage is is what the bleed's damage will be based on. There's no double dipping like before.
So it doesn't matter if the Physical support only affects Melee, since melee is the only thing that will dictate the bleed damage of the skill.
As far as I know, it still goes through modifiers. It just doesn't go through them after the hit went through them but has it's own damage to go off of. So if you have 30% physical damage and 30% Physical Damage with swords.
The skill will go through both modifiers. However, the bleed will take it's base damage based on weapon damage and go through the 30% physical damage only as that is the only mod in this case that would effect it.
I just now tested this in beta. 8% increased physical damage effected my bleed damage. but 15% physical Damage with swords did nothing. I would assume this to be true w/melee damage as well as bleed is not melee and does not get effect it.

Does Cloud on CA proc Decay? it says "Skills inflict" which makes me assume so, but just thought I'd make sure.

It's not a 30% more multiplier since it has a 30% chance of maiming. Aka if you take that into account it's ~10% more overall.

Unless you play assassin with 100% chance to poison. After first hit you'd have 80% chance to Maim XD

Brutality isn't limited to melee as melee physical is is the main point. Also for physical builds you don't have elemental dmg added to your gear at all. If you do its simply not your end gear and only temporary the loss of those small rolls is negligible.
Also, (I could be wrong as I haven't tested) but I don't thing melee physical effects bleed? Bleed isn't melee damage. Only straight %physical has an effect as far as I know.
Melee physical would affect bleed if caused by a melee attack because it is like poison, damage based off of attack that applied it.
I missed it was all physical, so good call. I'm just trying to think of what would honestly improve in my main's potential build and it seems counter intuitive given my reliance on Hatred for free damage.
