The worst thing about the ES nerf is that I finally discovered ES (always played life based in the past) and all of a sudden I felt that the game was fun again. I had a ton of ideas for upcoming leagues what I wanted to try but this killed it.

What I find annoying is that ggg loves their negative, player punnishing approach instead of balancing other areas up and make maps harder. Life needs a boost, boost it. If we don't die enough for you (seems to be the goal, you forget that the game is fun to play even if you don't die all the time) make the maps harder, add more end game content.

While I love you guys for what you done the past years that made this an amazing game, you always go the negative nerfing route (well in most cases). Please stop, don't take yourself to seriously, allow people to feel their chars getting stronger, add more super tricky content instead.

GGG doesn't want fun dude, honestly they need us to work. Fun means player will win too fast, work means player will struggle and take longer increasing chances they will spend more money to GGG.

This game's development absolutely gas NO intention of being fun. If it gained GGG more money then they'd remove the graphics completely if that's what it took. Don't kid yourselves, this game is a business and players who play, have fun then quit earn GGG no money.

This game is work. It's a job. It starts fun and easy to hook you, then it's work. It completely lacks creative content necessary to be fun through and through. That's the bad part about games like these. After a short while the game's fun transitions subtly but inevitably to playing for progression rather than the mechanics and fun. Work!

Yeah I guess, it does start to show the symptoms of typical larger corporation decease where they believe it is more than a game, that it is a business model. If they are not able to walk the line of keeping it fun, rewarding they are open themselfes up for competition. I know I would go if there was something out there surfacing. This constant nerfing and punnishing of their players is not what built the fanbase, it was always the passion for the game. Anyways, this is a dead conversation, we are talking to each others, not ggg, they got their eye on the money not us.

We're a community so it's very good to talk to each other, even if our main intent is to yell at GGG to stop making the game less fun. If we all were a tight knit group all communicating to each other and speaking for each other then this crap GGG does to us would not be able to even happen with everyone saying no. It's how governments fall, it's how tyrants come to power, it's how people die in real life. Poor communication and poor ties to people cause almost all problems.

Soo... i almost always played ES, but never was a good merchant, so i always ended up with 11/12k ES builds at lvl 90+, now i'm forced to play life since i'll have a low 7/8k ES with no leech.

Life base can be good, but it's harsh and bad to reduce the build choices to whatever you want us to play... you're basically nerfing a huge part of the dedicated and experienced community...

Balancing is no joke, try adding real knowledgable players to your balance testings instead of changing things without taking feedback on their viability. I was super Hyped about 3.0 to make a return to the game, but i feel like the 10 acts and all the new stuff won't make it for these balance changes.

I really hope i'll be wrong, but it doesn't feel like so.
i never liked es-vp builds and never felt the need to get to endgame with those kind of builds, but im afraid they quite overdone it here. i think its fine having massive es pools, the problem was how those pools could be sustained with instant refill. just the change with vaalpact would have fixed it allready, also slicing down es for endgame with about 30-40% is really overdoing it. a minor cut in es pools would be justified but maybe not even needed. lets be real, what wil the advantage of es be over hp when this is implemented?

next up is the es-flask, and es wil simply be a secondary hp
VP should go (well every type of instant leech) life or es doesn´t matter. They should change how ES is scaled. Some kind of psedo-diminishing returns or smth like that would work much better. It wouldn´t affect 90% of the player base (people with 8-12k ES) and it would work well without instant leeching.
They should also look at some regen mechanics, rebalance some monster´s damage and remove 1 shots. People shouldn´t be punished for making their chars more defensive (well armored char should survive smth).

They shouldn´t balance the game around 1% of the player base who can abuse whatever mechanic. Some kind of diminishing returns or caps are the best ways how to balance the game (clear speed/movement speed included)!

And yet Berserker remains the most budget way to facetank the whole content.

RIP Assassin. Ranger might survive but a large portion of builds are out.

Time to find out whether my MTX look good on a marauder, because it doesn't seem like it will be worth building anything else for a while.

This balancing reminds me of how GGG balanced AA/MoM. Only took 3 years to make MoM worth it, AA still in the gutter.

GGG won't survive this big of a cut to the build base. Many people will just stop playing. I've already seen a drop in participation in my guild. What's the fun in working for so long to build a character, only to have it axed completely in the next nerf rounds.

Corporations do stupid s**t because the collective mentality of corporations suffer from a blend of dunning/kruger effect and bloated bureaucracy.

What they (ggg) don't get, is that the game is already very difficult for the "casual" player. And, the currency curve for great gear prevents even dedicated players from achieving these .1% builds that get the snowflakes up in arms. Snowflake = "It's not fair! The game needs to be vanilla balanced!" Crowd. I got news for these twinks, life isn't fair, it's harsh and those who fight to reign on top will. The snowflakes will always be left with crumbs, even if big brother comes and rescues them from their pity, they end up with nothing.

Rewards over punishment for those who work is a good model to go by. Rewards to those who do nothing beyond a lvl 80-85 character, and in the process taking from those who do the work, is socialism at its finest and ALWAYS fails.

GGG would have us think that everyone and their mom is able to build these OP builds. The fact is, they WON'T simply because the highest tier gear is so outrageously expensive to trade for, it's just not practical for the "casual" player, or most players for that matter.

Anyway, RIP es builds. Build diversity will be gone from that point forward.
I have a few questions :

Let's assume I have a 121% ES and +137 maximum ES vaal regalia, just like the screenshot in page 1. After 3.0 :

1) Will these mods be rerolled or will they be preserved ?
2) If yes to the latter, am I right to assume the total ES will drop only because the BASE ES of the vaal regalia will be nerfed ?
3) If yes to the previous question, will the BASE ES nerf also apply to unmodifiable items (mirrored, corrupted) ?

Now concerning the Vaal pact with ES nerf :

4) Will it also concern the use of Atziri's gloves (where leech is instant on critical strike) ? In other words, will it still be possible to leech ES instantly with Atziri gloves on crit ?

Thank you

1) preserved
2) idk
3) idk
4)yes, atziri's will be useless. It's a total gutting of anything es

GL
if this is the end of the history about Energy shield, at least we should have a buff of energy shield on hit maybe also some point on tree(non sense the actual number of ES on hit).

Will Legacy Vinktar apply instant leech for ES? It was mentioned that Acuity instant leech will no longer work with ES so is Legacy Vinktar going to be nerfed as well?

ANYONE WONDERING ABOUT ANY FORM OF INSTANT LEECH ON ES

Legacy Vinktars, Acuity or anything that could result in instant leech to ES will be destroyed. There will be no way to instant leech ES after 3.0. Instead just go Berserker and get 100% instant leech for free with even more damage.

Also, here's some more benefits from going Berserker:

- No stun
- Much less likely to get frozen
- You will have armor and/or evasion
- Flasks to add even more instant recovery
- Regeneration isn't blocked by damage
- whole realm of uniques you can't use as a CI build.

Life will now completely and utterly destroy CI. I hope the respond adequately to the fact that nobody will be investing in CI for the long term in new leagues.

I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.
