Are Dx9 options going to be removed in 3.0?
" Highly unlikely. If GGG removed the DX9 clients at this point, they'd effectively prevent anyone using Linux or Mac from playing. Also, anyone using a version of Windows older than 8.1 would be limited by the DX11.1 features missing in those clients. The only comment I could find was in 2.4.2 Patch Notes where it's stated: " |

" Indeed. It's also worth noting that Chris mentioned he'd be interested in releasing to Linux, but hasn't bothered doing so yet (mostly because people running Linux install and tweak their own Windows-based games, so there's little need to create an installer for Linux). So I doubt he wants to dump that unofficial support of Linux. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

I'm glad to hear that General consensus is that dx9 stays, still would love some more official info.
So far I've only heard rumours in other threads on the forum but to me it's still scary. I won't be able to afford an upgrade of my laptop till next year. My build guides:

At no point has GGG ever mentioned or hinted at removing dx9 support, and i'm pretty sure Chris has said that they won't remove it because they can tell that there are plenty of people playing who are unable to run the dx11 version or the 64 bit client (some people still play with xp and hardware from that time period)
I don't know where people got the idea that they would. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi He who controls the pants controls the galaxy. - Rick & Morty S3E1 Last edited by lagwin1980#2224 on Apr 18, 2017, 10:19:32 AM

" The DX11 client is 64bit bit. The DX9 clients are 32bit. |
