im kind of confused. (this is my first CI build/ES build in general) im looking through the comments were you say we get unwavering stance, but when i look at the skill point section you havent even touched it. som im confused about if we do get it and when in that case do we go for it? Hi, i'v just started this build and looking a lil' bit forward on bossfights survivability odds since vaal pact nerf. Is it safe to use slower projectile support as you can't facetank attacks and have to avoid a lot of mechanics , but you have to be close with the boss using this gem? Can somebody help me with the math... I'm currently level 78 with 727 Int. My unbuffed lightning damage per attack is 575 - 5713 (with GMP). In comparison, Aixx's listed buffed lightning damage with GMP is 5656 - 37410, or 6.85 times higher. Time for some math: His gear has 135 more Int than mine = (727 + 135) / 727 = 1.186 more damage His damage was pre-HoWA nerf (2 - 12 rather than 1 - 10 damage per 10 Int) = 1.273 more damage Having a 2nd HoWA in his off-hand also gives 12% more Int = 1.12 more damage I'll assume that he had Elemental Overload active = 1.40 more damage. Having Vaal Haste and his flasks active shouldn't affect this stat since all of the flasks that he shows only add lightning penetration, not lightning damage. So, I would expect his lightning damage per attack to be approximately (1.186 * 1.273 * 1.12 * 1.40) = 2.37 times higher than mine, not 6.85 times higher. In other words, his lightning damage per attack is (6.85 / 2.37) = 2.89 times higher than I would expect it to be. Where is all this extra damage coming from? hey dude ! great guide ! i have a question : i really started the game 1 month ago and i don't understand the wise oak effect . If i'm capped with fire and cold res and i have 74% at lightning res when i activate wise oak it's gonna penetrate lightning res of enemies right ? Hey Cavaggio :) In 2.6 you had to go for Unwavering Stance, since 3.0 its better to get the anti-stun Pantheon point and more %ES/Int in your skilltree. Hey Scrmmy, you still definitely can and should take Slower Projectiles for 95% of the bosses. You might want to go GMP against the Phoenix for example if your dps is bad. @ljlevend, hey :) In 2.6 (where the screenshots are from) I had about 1330-1350 Int (with 2 HoWAs of course), so thats about 1180 Int with only 1 claw. Maybe you need more levels or Jewels? I hope this was helpful for you in some way. Hey FreshKaPPa, thats wrong :( If you have 75% fire and cold resist and 74% lightning resist your damage will penetrade 10-15% fire AND cold resist. You will take 10% reduced lightning damage. I'm not sure about tooltip dps (I can check tomorrow) but I have around 600k dps to Shaper and have killed all guardians with ease. Trash dies instantly and can kill t13 shore boss and stand bosses without Slower Proj in couple seconds.
