[2.6] Varunastra Cleave Slayer. Starting Legacy league couldn't have been easier.

Yes I don't record vods for stream because sometimes its choppy and nobody will watch them anyway.

My slayer was lying around doing nothing so I respec'd him over to this. Cleave is really strong with even junk gear, but it's AOE is pretty painful. I tried messing around with Lacerate, but it is so much weaker than Cleave, but almost half (21k cleave vs 9k lacerate at level 61). If you wear two jewels, would you get 6% AOE per mob nearby? Might be worthwhile just for clearing purposes. Looking forward to seeing how it goes from here!

Hi, as far as I have seen, 1 unique jewel is enough and the second one is not a noticable buff. I would favor rare jewels with life, area dmg and atk speed etc.

Really interested in trying something similar, but was wondering since there's no video, how good is the clear with cleave without any AOE from tree?

Not sure if you know.. but if you position it correctly lacerates damage is technically damage. because each lacerate deals 9k dps... but if you have the targets in the overlap it will technically become 18k dps.. because 2 lots of 9k dps hitting at once

So I am running this build and I'm up to 72 right now, and just doing Dried Lake right now.

It was a dream to level with twink items like Deidbell and whatnot. I used two Princess swords which lasted a long time (and basically trivialized content) into Innsbury Edge swords. I switched to Scaeva swords at 60 but honestly could have used Innsbury all the way to Varunastra at 69. I figured I'd drop 1-2c total on two Scaevas and honestly could used those for a while if I didn't have currency for Varunastras. I used mana pot till mana leech and get blood magic on your whirling blades as well to help that.

Overall, and yes I'm only in dried lakes, it was fun to level and didn't feel like a chore on some other builds. I don't see an AOE issue but I'm in lakes with decent density but blood rage (building frenzy charges) combined with onslaught and whirling blades has me liking the clear speed. Cull is nice as well (I haven't done merciless lab just up to cruel).

I probably spent almost an ex getting all the stuff, which isn't too bad honestly (legacy SC). I could have got cheaper swords but I went for higher rolls so I prob could have saved 7-10c there. Carnage heart as well, I got a 10c one with good roles, but you could probably save some on that. I mostly just like to farm stuff like Strand and whatnot so I think this will be a fun build for that. Thanks for the guide, keep us up to date, thanks!

Uploaded a full key Uber Lab in Video section, with Charges + Conduit fully buffed Izaro. I took a hit from his shield charge on purpose just to know if I would die to one hit from full buff Izaro. Turn out I didn't.

Cool build. After playing around with all kinds of stuff I decided to run cleave as well, but on a Juggernaut where I can eventually go crit (accuracy helps) with a nice foil, slot in an abyssus (since I plan to have 7-8 endurance charges) and have instant leech with acuities.

For the cleave gem, as you mentioned, its just good to use 1. The aoe scaling has diminishing returns if you have inc aoe and amplify (near templar), so its only good for fortify as a free link which is huge.

Still Im really enjoying this setup. Gladiator also looks strong, you can pair it with haemophilia and have mobs explode for 15% of their life as physical damage, which will be scaled up by all your +phys jewels used to scale your attack also. If you go dual varunastra, you can make frenzy and endurance charges at the same time with Outmatch and Outlast since cleave uses both mainhand and offhand (I played dual axe cleave back in 2.1).
