Yeah Herald works with Curse on Hit. It's super useful.

Hey my curse on hit doesn't seem to be working at all, ever. I have the entire build set up exactly as the guide describes, but my curse on hit never seems to be applying to enemies. Do you have idea what I might be doing wrong?

I can't see your profile so I can't really see if it matches my setup. Mine seems to work fairly well though. Think it's Herald of Ice - Curse on Hit & Assassin's Mark.

Hello, first let me say thank you for this build, its really beginner friendly!

I'm not sure if i should ask here in this thread, but you seem like an experienced bow player, and i haven't found suitable thread in the Shadow section.
Have you ever tried playing bow Assassin? I think about build that scales poison, uses wither totem and cherubims maleficence (similar to last league Mathil build). I think in current meta (lul) it could be strong especially single target, but im not sure how it will work and if it could be stronger than your's simple elemental Raider.

@Zetki: For Barrage I would drop Elemental Focus. I actually was very poor at the start of the league, I dropped Crit Strikes from my TS setup and just got by, you will lose out a little, but the impact didn't seem that bad as long as I had Diamond Flask to cover my back.

It is more geared for end-game characters. It does use Legacy Kaom, but with normal Kaom I still sit at ~7.3K Life or so.


@TristanKMF: I think it's a little risky to drop VP or Instant Leech if we do so much Elemental Damage. Raider to me feels very stable because you can generate your own charges. Assassin's Mark with Herald of Ice is very good though. If you are that point where you can get Acuity it does open things up a lot.


@2698303: Can you tell me what gems you use?


@Radditzgt: This passive tree uses the leech nodes in Duelist (Vitality Void and surrounding nodes). I've not had many mana issues unless I'm just starting out and my damages are low.


@Lapheu: I'm trying to stay away from Poison variants because I am unclear of their future in Patch 3.0... but the tree would be similar, especially with the QOL changes to Aspect of the Eagle. For starters, we definitely want to get out of Heavy Draw, and go for the Ranger Start Projectile Damage Nodes. Just a small change but consider:

@Yuu07: Hey there. For Shadow Bow Characters, I would say King of the Forest is what you are looking for. It is incredibly strong, but in terms of cost it has gone up considerably the past 3 leagues where people have discovered the power of the build. Thanks for the reply. Sadly it didn't become any clearer. I've come to a point where i did everything that i can with this build. I did map up t15, a lot of atziri runs, rigwald and pale court. So i did everything that was expected from the budget gear. And i need some kind of transition to high-end content. I don't really know how to do it effectively. Is acuity must have item in order to progress? And what other gear should i change from the ones that i have now?

How very noobish of me, sorry man, I forgot. It's pub now. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply, it means a lot to have the help!

EDIT: I may have solved it. I had a random qual Enlighten in there with CoH AM HoI that I was leveling just for the heck of it. Once I took out that qual Enlighten, the setup started generating. That must've been the issue.

Hey again. I just dont know if its just me or bow build are expensive in general.
I havnt changed my 262pdps bow since my last post. I feel that my dmg its just too low LA - 21k buffed with hatred and hoi and Barrage 18k.
I saw today harbinger 320pdps 5l bow for 80 chaos, downloaded Path of building to test what improvement will be and it showed only 1-2k increase. If that its true.. i dont know. :)
Yeah, my gems are not leveled nor quality, but stil feels so low. I dont know if its tooltip misleading or something else.
I've started testing different skills, just for fun. Got some cheap claws (ToA) and tested frost blades and i was dealing the same dps with messy gems and passives for bow.
Sorry that i'm talking for different skills in your topic, but just wanted to mention it like comparison.
