[2.6] EK NOVA Pathfinder/Occultist Millions of DPS. UPDATED w/ Leveling Guide!

Seems like no one has asked this question, either because it is noobish or im just not seeing it.

How can you use Ring of blades jewel with the occultist build? It requires 40 dex, which, as far as I can seen, we dont even get on the passive tree.

@darkimp51 the dex actually just has to be in range, not allocated :)
edit: I realize that the occultist/witch doesn't have a spot to put Ring of Blades early on. You'd have to path to the Ranger jewel node, which means you'll be leveling with standard conical EK.

tooltip dps will not be accurate for this build. because tooltip does not calculate diamond flask, shock, or poison damage. I do about 100k tooltip dps flasked which comes out to just under 1 million dps when accurately calculated in path of building.

after viewing your char, here's my thoughts:
you are using a dagger (which is sick btw) but not a movement skill, and you still have a quicksilver flask. since you are not using a movement skill, you should use a wand for more damage. daggers are only necessary to use shield charge or whirling blades.
you are using a rumi's but not a rathpith globe or stone of lazhwar. since you are not on hardcore, you might just want to forgo rumis/block for more damage.

I would get a wand and ditch rumis for a diamond flask. this will significantly boost your damage, more than taste of hate. either that, or use whirling blades and ditch your quicksilver flask for the diamond.

has anyone tried decay dagger / wand as mentioned by op? Is the damage boost significant? Will it be a significant improvement over my current dagger?

so basically ek nova has no damage at all on low lvl. with added cold and fire support and increased crit and stuff.. it's killing my mana and has zero damage. thanks!

dunno if this is an indication for later, that ek is a really bad skill.. I guess not, but I'm getting really annoyed at how slow this character is leveling

So i've noted a few changes since the last time i visited this Thread.

You seem to have completely ditched block chance, no rathpits nor Rumi's. Guess I'll get a basalt too.

Also, in the past you said that Piercing Shots wasn't worth it. It is now? You ditched 1 Power charge and a Jewel slot for the piercing chance + proj damage. Whats your opinion? Worth it or not? also ditched 37% dmg over time, that sounds like a lot (?)

Well, I levelled the same build with lifesprig and reverberation utill the final gear. It is nesessary to get some gear with a lot of mana regen, some sourses of additional conversion of physical damage to cold or fire and run Hatred, HoI + clarity. It will be quite difficult to sustain from 58 to 68 - when we finally got Atziry's and Vinctar, so you should get some 5-link to life leech. I used EK-SE-pierce-faster projectiles-life leech with Ghost Reaver and CI since 59 in a cheap 450 ES 5link robe

Thanks. So wait, we don't leech mana? I have a ton of mana regen on gear, which is barely enough atm. So I'm confused.. how do we leech mana and life?

Leveling this build was super easy for me, there are a couple of things that you might want though. Two Eleron Rings really help with the mana issues while leveling, and for an amulet a Karuri Ward works wonders. For flasks can run 1-2 life, 1-2 mana and 2 quicksilver with added movespeed. Around act 4 normal and cruel you should get a chest and glove upgrade with life and decent ES to stay alive. Do normal lab as soon as you can for Master Herablist, the poison DPS helps. Around Lvl 40 I picked up Brinerot Whalers and The Gull, the Gull makes you go faster makes leveling more fun. I used the a reverberation rod and lifesprig up until I could use a 5 link, then switched to a decent want with cast speed and a shield. If you are having mana problems, a Blashpemy+Warlords mark should be enough sustain while clearing, for bosses bring a mana potion. Once you get the leech boot enchant and a vinktars it makes mana management trivial. Atziri's is our life leach.

Yeah.. I have 1k life and nothing else atm, at lvl 55ish. No leech, barely enough mana regen. And the life sanctified flask helps me die a lot.

I'm using a tabula, I have no lvling chest piece. And yea, this is around where it gets shitty.. act 4 cruel, before I'm able to start gearing up, which happens only towards lvl 62+. The rings and amulet are all mana regen focused: 2 dream fragments and a foible. I'm capped with resists cuz of goldrim and aurumvorax.

So I have okish damage, but really bad survivability. I need leech, wth and wtf. Wtf amd wth. I mean.. what the actual.. : D This build can't work without leech.. How do we leech mana and life?

Edit: OK, so I had to add Warlord's Mark, it's infinitely better, although I lost some damage. And the damage wasn't great to start with. My questions still stands: how is this build supposed to work? How do we leech? The guy doesn't say anything about Warlord's Mark or any way of leeching.. but he does take Vaal Pact and Ghost Reaver. A rather essential piece of info is missing here : /
