GGG, could you tell us what is going on with the Nazi-reference in act 5?

I don't get people like the OP who get freaked out by symbols and game scenery. There is nothing in this game that can scare me. It's just a bunch of pixels man.
There are way more horrific scenes in movies. There are movies that even I dare not to watch because they're too sick for my taste. Human centipede is one of those. Even the trailer freaked me out and I want to go back in time and kill the dude who came up with the idea for the film.

So unless you're a man who survived the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps, I can see no reason for you to be freaked out by this imagery. Even then you would have the choice to simply not play PoE if you're so touchy about what you see on screen.

I honestly hope GGG is not considering to change the game because of this.

Because there is an example of it dating back to the 2.4.0. expansion. There was a poster (most probably a young girl) who was offended by the image of the semi-naked chained woman beside the life orb. Well she is in for a treat with the new semi-naked bondage woman in 3.0.0.
Muhahahahahahaaahhaaaahaaaaaaa...... "insert more evil laughter" XD

I seriously hope that GGG have learned from that incident and aren't going to make any changes because of some random man/woman whining.
I don't know what's the fuss. The whole path of the exile is littered with nudity, vaginas all over, lots of tits plus redhead dick in marketplace, sadly there is no hardcore porn, but I hope the new acts will prove me wrong. But OMG, swastika is very bad!
Well. The swastika originates in India region, also it is the first Hebrew letter "aleph" /printed letter/. The great big propaganda made it a trademark of Nazies. In fact it is ordinary symbol as many others. No big deal.

Yet the templar char still has no..you know. Well you guessed it wrong. He has no pants but also he has no dick cos normally it should appear under his cloth, at least a little bit.

I’m appalled, but by no means surprised, at the number of callous, shallow reactions in this thread, even by a handful of people from whom I’ve come to expect at least the occasional bit of thoughtfulness.

The introduction of Nazi symbolism into PoE is absolutely something that GGG should answer for, and the OP had every reason to ask them to. What’s the rationale? That there’s no such thing as bad publicity? That’s a pretty lame reason, but it’s the only one I can come up with, and why I want to hear from GGG on the subject.

Not only is it in just about the worst possible taste, it mixes what seems to be an approximately first century setting with the twentieth. What’s next? Sub machinegun skin transfers, so that Blade Flurry can have the appropriate look as well as feel? Tiger Tank pets? Goose-stepping dance moves for the Templar?

If GGG lasts for another ten years, people will still say: this was their most unscrupulous hour.
@Truper17:

I thought the OP was insane, but you've taken it to a whole new level.

There is countless games where they use symbolism that is similar to What the Nazis used. Heck there is Wolfeinstein ans aal the games that depict real and fictional WW2 events. I heard no one complaining about them in their forums.

Those images that you and the OP is freaking out about doesn't even depict the real thing.
Yet you seem to want to launch a smear campaing against GGG all of a sudden.

Jeez buddy chill out!

Don't be ridiculous. Imagery that is vaguely reminiscent of Nazi uniforms hardly constitutes the kind of silliness you are taking it to. Obviously you have also missed the explanations of where a lot of those same symbols and aesthetics came from before the Nazi's adopted them (specifically Ancient Rome, which DOES mesh perfectly with the aesthetic that GGG has already established through settings like the Marketplace, the Labyrinth, hell... almost all of act 3 really.) I having the bad guys be agents of or the army of an evil empire really that outlandish?

The few of you that are getting butthurt about this stuff need to take a step back and get a grip on what you're actually talking about.
U MAD?
The Karui were sold as slaves.
I agree with the OP. Regardless of what the theme or relation to our world is, it is lame that path of exile can't come up with its own genuinely unique themes and content in this instance. The world of path of exile has so much opportunity to create its own culture. Why are we being reminded of immersion breaking Roman or Nazi themes when we could be introduced to the karui totem armbands (think about it) and their unique march dance of death?

I am in no way offended at all by the new content. Did i say that? I just think PoE is a unique game, and unique games should have unique content instead of recycling content that has been done to death. More than anything I just think its boring and acts as filler content until something unique and related to PoE comes along to replace it.

Reading comprehension on the internet these days....
