Most of PoE's content as you might already know is focused around the Roman empire. The romans were nearly the same as nazis just a few centuries early with their vision for the world. The nazis image was based upon the romans simply because they admired the way they ruled half the planet. So i dont see what the problem is between the content now and 3.0 content where everything will be the same, only the concept will be boosted by a couple of centuries.

First of all - in case fantasy worlds there is no such things as "in their times". It is fantasy world and its ruled by different than our reality principles. So PoE world is ruled by other than our world princpiles and they are defined by creators. And if they see as aprt of world evolution putting some totalitarian system in their world then thats ok. They can do it and they have right to do it.

Second thing - totalitarian systems are rather common in many realities, not just ours.

Personally i like this kind of influence and im OK with it.

So you're telling me the romans didnt invade other civilizations. Didnt enslave them. Didnt murder,pillage,occupy their cities and temples in the name of world domination? They didnt make slaves to fight one another in arenas against their will. Can you imagine the world if nazi germany won the war? It would be the same as the romans, they would accept multiple religions, multi cultures but their ideology would be king.

Also i personally also like this kind of concept ( fightning against a tyrannical enemy which actually resembles something in real life) , i wouldnt enjoy fighting against some imaginary dragon that has no backstory for instance ( he once ruled the galaxy now he went bad or whatever, oh and also his minions are butterflies and no named drakes). But thats my opinion.

You see the arm bands the colors the symbolism and you think nazi germany. They took people form their homes and did horrific things. just like nightmare and his followers.
