Quality of Life Features in Content Update 2.6.0

How can there be 2 updates happening at once? Don't get how 2.6.0 and 3.0.0 are coming out at the same time, why not just pick one number, why the use of both?

They're not coming out at the same time. 2.6 is in march, 3.0 later, but they're both being announced this week, starting with 3.0 today I believe.
