Donald Trump and US politics

I have stated before the importance of a government not being able to take away rights, and I do think all citizens should have an unalienable right to vote (exception: I don't have an issue with temporary suspension of an incarcerated felon's rights; they're already imprisoned against their will, obviously punishment inherently involves temporary rights violations, which we allow due to the difficulty to obtain false conviction through multiple safeguards).

However, this doesn't mean I'm a citizen of everywhere. For instance, it's silly to allow residents of Alaska to vote for governor of Florida. I have no qualms requiring people to legally renounce their previous citizenship in order to gain a new one and thereby transfer their voting rights. This includes requiring a legal immigration process.

So to clarify, I believe illegal immigrants to the US from Mexico do have a fundamental right to vote... in Mexican, not US, elections. As citizens of Mexico it is the Mexican government's responsibility to ensure such people are not disenfranchised, and the US government's obligation to not impede US residents who aren't US citizens their right to vote in their countries of citizenship. This is not, however, an obligation to allow non-US-citizens to vote in US elections.

Those who was eligible for citizenship are initially of European descent. African Americans were granted citizenship rights after the American Civil War and the abolition of slavery. Native Americans, Asians, and others didn't gain citizenship until much later.

I believe Self determination is a natural right but citizenship is a privilege granted by the state and so is voting right. US can refuse to grant non-US-citizens citizenship. Non-US-citizens can petition the government to grant them citizenship.

Who knows, maybe some, but unlikely several million and unlikely all for Clinton.

In one state election a few years back, out of millions of votes, they were down to recounting (for a second time) the votes (less than a hundred separated the two candidates, and iirc it was something like 17 votes). Lo and behold, a mysterious bag with thousands of uncounted votes was "discovered" in the middle of the night. Instead of being almost 50/50 voting like all the others in the district, this particular bag was almost all for the Democrat candidate.

The same state govt was found to be selling fraudulent drivers' licenses and even giving bulk discounts. You sent in whatever information and photo you wanted and they would make official documents. It was part of the reason, the US decided to require more stringent documents for flying and reentering the US.

Can you post a link to that?

I wouldn't trust Hillary who defended a rapist and had a KKK leader as her mentor in politics.

Please stop with the same "boring" arguments. I don't care about Hillary. She can get hit by a bus and I wouldn't care. Trump didn't pay up on money he owes and that is what I care about. Not honoring your gambling debt is unforgivable. It is being a sore loser.

"please stop with the same boring arguments" says the guys who are using the same boring arguments since the elections

NOO NOO !!!! RUSSIA!!! IMPEACH!!!! HUHHHH!!!! he said sexist things!!!! huhhh! He's not presidential!!! sexist!!!!!! ohhhh! He's literaly Hitler.

You don't get to say people use the same arguments when you've been doing the same for the past one year and half.
You seem to forget. Hillary lost and is out of the picture. Trump was elected and is the president. What he did and does, matters. Your guy was elected; the fact that he lies, cheats and is 100% self serving, is important.

Funny fact, so far he only has been doing what he promised he would do if elected therefore I see no lies not even a surprise.

Maybe you should watch the elections next time instead of just reading little kids wining on social media.

Why the chuckle? It's dishonorable. Would you do the same?

I've had to on a couple occasions. One time the ball ended up in the middle of a very large pond. Another involved avoiding hitting a ball out into the street (small municipal course)

You take a 1 stroke penalty and keep playing. Even Tiger Woods has done it.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about cheating rather than following the rules.

Yes, under some circumstances, you are allowed to move your ball.

I originally read the stories in print, long ago.

For the first one, it was the Washington State election between Christine Gregoire and Dino Rossi. The revisionist history version of it on Wikipedia omits a lot of information that was out at the time. The Second one was 12-15+ years ago, and I haven't seen nor been able to find a link to it online. It wasn't a single employee at the DMV, it was a group of them doing it.

Your leader of the anarchy party does not add the penalty strokes.

Tiger Woods does not cheat. Trump does.

Are you saying Trump doesn't lie? He lied less when he talked about what he would do if elected, but he lied on hundreds of other situations. Here is a list, all be it maintained by his political enemies, but let's pretend it's only half correct. He lies about his golf play???

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/06/23/opinion/trumps-lies.html

Today, he lied when he said that Obama never called the families of fallen soldiers. He claimed he was the first president to do so. Of course he was called on it and then had to back track and change his story and say he didn't actually know what Obama did or even what other past presidents did.

As far as doing what he said he would do, he mostly blames others for not doing what he wants. He doesn't even read or understand the legislation he is willing to sign. He offers no help to the congress to get things done. All he has done is in the Executive branch where he has more control.
