NZGDC 2016 Developer Presentation: Labyrinth Design
Seems like an awful stretch to say 0.00000123123blahblah% of players like the lab
How far fetched do you have to be to use that as a statistic when 99% of said players didn't even vote? |
|
" Prove me wrong. Oh, that's right, you can't. Because we can't account for the millions of players who don't share their opinions on the forums or Reddit. And even if that claimed 11.5 millions players worldwide is about 11 million of an overshoot, the thousand or so complaining on the forums is still a fraction of a percent of what's left. So it's a "stretch" to claim a half, let alone a large portion of players are unhappy with the lab. No one can claim anything. I put those fabricated charts up there to prove a point, not to prove numbers none of us can claim. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

There are NOT a million active accounts. Let's stop the silliness. Those numbers are how many have been CREATED.
First off, what percentage of users have created more than just one? How many have been created, died to hailrake, then abandoned? What percent have been bot accounts? Half? How many have been banned? It goes on and on. Those numbers are slung with sensationalism and salesmanship. Try to read sensibly between the lines. |

" There's nowhere near a half million active players either. |
|
" ...because you work for GGG and know the exact number of active players over a specific period of time? Yeah, right. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

A person doesn't need to work for GGG to have a rough idea about where they're at with active players. All it takes is observational skills and common sense. (And a willingness to see through the smoke & mirrors.)
|
|
" Then don't go around posting things as fact when it just makes you look like a moron if you're trying to prove your point. For the people active on the forum, which is a decent number, most don't like the lab. #wow #whoa #statistics |
|
" "a big percentage of the players absolutely hates to run it." - You making an ad populum argument. When you google something to see what it means you might want to review your own posts to make sure you didn't do what you googled, just saying. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.

" None of this matters... 600 threads is a tiny fraction of 100,000 players, it's also a tiny fraction of 50,000 players... Hell it's even a tiny fraction of 10,000 players. The Lab it is reasonable to say, has some people who hate it bitterly because they subjectively don't like it. Like someone can dislike Dark beer, or extra toasted cheezits, you all not liking them doesn't mean other people aren't digging it. It's fine if you don't like it, get a carry. Just STAHP with the "everyone agrees with me therefore I am right and Dark beer must be abolished" nonesense. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
