Path of Exile is Coming to Xbox One!
" Exactly... I think the majority of the current player base is gonna be pissed. |

" I for one think of trading as a secondary feature: nice to have, but not game-breaking when absent (given its being a third-party site, I do not consider poe.trade a part of the game at all). At least for me, it's far more satisfying to find and craft whatever might be needed. " It can be if handled improperly. For example, GGG can make it absolutely clear that restrictions/changes necessary for the XB1 version will remain quarantined to that platform... and stick to that commitment. Clearly no more $$$ for you. I hope every pc gamer do the same. Sorry ggg, you ended for me here today. It is a greedy and unrespectful decision.

Why are you kids bitching so much? It's a company that wants to expand and make more money. Don't like the expansion to console, keep playing on PC... It's not like your being forced to switch.

" Chris stated specifically that the development of the XBox One client generated the current performance improvements in the PoE client we have the PC. It was a separate team dedicated to refining the engine to get it to run smoothly on slower hardware. And we benefited from that. So no, the money invested in GGG and the game hasn't been just for an XBox One launch. And no, it's not "going to die". Of course I share many concerns that the complainers are expressing, but the spewing of this FUD is a naive, knee-jerk to the announcement. Do your own research and see what it really means for PoE. Now, if GGG doesn't live up to their promises, then we can start bitching and moaning about it. Until then, we've only seen improvements in the client as a result of their endeavor. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▒▒▒▒░░░░░ cipher_nemo ░░░░░▒▒▒▒ │ Waggro Level: ♠○○○○ │ 1244 ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ Last edited by cipher_nemo#6436 on Jan 19, 2017, 10:42:19 AM

I think it's an odd fit for console. Still, as long as they balance the PC and Xbox versions separately, it should be okay, but I think they will have to seriously address how they run items in the game. Path is basically the epitome of an item-driven RPG. Even skills are items. While that's an interesting way to do it, managing skill gems would be annoying AF with a controller.
They may possibly have to go so far as to remove sockets from items and adopt a separate slot that only manages skill gems but doesn't change out when you change gear. Same for MTX, for that matter. Or use a cleaner transmog system and give you access to the masters right away, to make it work just like Diablo 3 did it. Although, Diablo 3 works on consoles because it has the depth of a mud puddle; Path is way more complex, some of that in a clunky way, and clunky is a slight annoyance on PC, but highly off-putting with a controller. Gonna have to find a way to make it accessible without sacrificing the game's identity. The only question that really matters right now is how account linking/transfer will work? No way I'd play it if it doesn't transfer my stuff. IF they transfer though, I'm in. Last edited by Myth_of_Demons#3537 on Jan 19, 2017, 11:04:53 AM

Playing since start of beta, I donated for the first time on arrival of DX11, which I considered a step in the right direction.
Only now I understand that everything I paid went into something that does not concern me at all. Crashes, disconnects and performance problems that been around for ages, and intensified with the arrival of DX11... Just so you could stuff all our loyalty into XBOX. I have friends, guild, who, like me, not only supported the game but also bought hardware upgrades for the sole reason - to be able to play together in POE in all its glory - but now, because of performance, we can only play alone. If you wanted to sell POE on XBOX that much, you could have just put a price tag on an XBOX version. People would have bought it. But you decided to deceive those who stayed loyal the longest. |
