I've had more fun with the console version of diablo 3 than the pc version. What makes making the game more compatible so they can reach a higher audience a bad idea?
LINUX!
GGG, I hope you will adhere to the following ethics throughout this console launch ...

  • (Promised) Please keep the "realms" separate. You promised this, and I hope you'll continue to do so. The XBox One PoE client (XPoE) is inherently different, and I'm sure you realize mixing players from the console with the PC would cause confusion in grouping, global chat channels, trade, etc. I also hope XPoE is on its own, separate gateway through whatever services Microsoft partners with for XBox One multiplayer.

  • Development organization and porting. We don't know how you internally will divide up your development, but the last thing your playerbase wants is to have new bugs introduced by changes for XPoE. Keep that port separate, and please use the PC version as the original trunk in your software developer, in that all updates and new content is developed and tested first on the PC, and then ported to XPoE, not the other way around. And please keep the balance of PoE separate from XPoE!!!!

  • Development priorities. Once we give you our money, we know it's yours to use as you see fit, but please do not siphon off funding from PC gamers to keep XPoE afloat. Fund the initial port, development, and launch (as it looks like you've done already), then let XPoE sink or swim on its own. It's safe to say that the community doesn't want regular PC PoE development to suffer anemic finances if all of that money is keeping XPoE on life support in the future.

  • Community. Do you plan to keep the XBox One community separate from the PC community? There's no doubt in my mind that XPoE players will find their way here en masse. Do you plan to launch an XPoE forums and site? Do you plan to integrate both communities and add some sort of visible way to identify which account is for which platform? We already have enough trouble between Steam and GGG clients in the community-driven Tech Support area on these forums. Flooding the forums with XBox woes would drive much of the Tech Support community away and burden your own support even more. But ultimately mixing the platforms would just add unnecessary stress to a community where some are already pissed off about this console launch. Personally I'm willing to keep an open mind, as it all depends on how well GGG handles this.

Thoughts?

Also quite funny this announcement is done now,
now that the playerbase is back to the pathtic number count it was before breach started...

Supporters have been milked as much as possible,
now would be the best moment to announce this, right..?

Can't wait for the next packs to come out,
you'll find out than just how much people want console versions,
or should i say pay for them :)

Is this a fucking joke?
Let me just tell you this, if this game runs beautifully on a fucking peasantbox with a crappy mobile CPU and mediocre GPU and the PC version still runs like dogshit on high-end hardware, we're done here forever. I do not want to support the game anymore in this case. Also why Xbox One out of all platforms. Was Microsoft that desperate to have exclusives on their system after shutting down their studios and cancelling their games one by one? PS4 has a much higher install base and much better performance. With Nintendo Switch you'd be able to play it on the go in handheld mode. But nope, lame boring xbox version it is. But yeah, the XBOne is pretty much just a glorified peasant PC so I can see that it would require the least effort to port.

Hey GGG just would like to know if that sweet energy shield grafic will be on PC??? looks frikken sweet.
For those who are skeptical about how it would work with a controller, I actually play P.O.E. already with an Xbox controller and XPadder. I don't know how GGG is planning on mapping it out, but with one of the back trigger buttons held down you can change buttons from primary to secondary functions. this makes it so you can have twice the amount of options as there is physical buttons on the controller. That is enough for all the spell slots as well as the important hotkey buttons. (Inventory, auto-map, switch weapon, quest log, highlight ground items, etc.) My previous experience with the ARPG genre was Champions of Norath, Dark Alliance, and Diablo 3 on Xbox 360. When I started playing them on PC, (Diablo 1 and 2, Fate, Dungeon Siege) I was used to using a controller and my shitty little laptop is cheap and awkward and kind of unresponsive so I decided to see if I could get them to work with a controller and I have no problems. That being said, I am not some super elite player where an entire map explodes when I walk through it so maybe there is some limitation with this setup and that level of play that I am not aware of. I support the idea some have had on here that they should include the controller option for PC users when they get this thing launched if that is possible.
