[2.6] CI HoWA ST - Uber / Shaper / Guardians Down - Budget Friendly?

Hello guys, I have been running a slightly modified version of this build with some reasonable success. I'm a bad player, so take all this with a grain of salt, I haven't completed the major content (Shaper & co) given my limited play time and I may be on crack making the changes I made with the help of a friend but...

...I seem to be doing a lot more damage (with capped accuracy and resist) by performing the following changes:

- using Lightning Strike instead of Spectral Throw. As I said before, I'm a pretty bad player and may have overlooked something but since I moved to LS my toon has been kicking some real ass. I had some issues in Death and Taxes with the flying weapons that can only be hit by the melee component of the damage, but the rest melts easily

- making sure that I'm accuracy capped

- use Multistrike in the 6-link with LS to accumulate some insane attack speed

- the 6-link chain is: LS+Elem Focus+WED+Multistrike+Light Pen+Slower Proj

- I use both orb and the totem and carry 2 onslaught potions

My gear still needs some help (my self dropped Vessel of Vinktar is bad ;) ), please feel free to take a look at it and check how it fits with the tree above.

On the Calcs section of PoB my DPS is double the one with ST (530K against 280K in the "all out" simulation setting) and if I get in melee range DPS almost double by adding both the projectile and the melee components.

I generally play the character as if I'm playing a ranged unless needed and everything that gets to melee range just melt.

Do you guys see any reason why I shouldn't be using LS? Am I missing anything here?

Ok. Here is a question. I was thinking of making this build to be more like avatar of lightning and for that use either static strike or lightning strike. Anyone can tell me if its a stupid idea and if yes, why?

Would it be worth it for me to switch to Astramentis? I'd be able to drop my Str ring as well as a Str node on the tree. Not sure myself. Have 200C for upgrades.

i have really hard mana Problems on this Build. Can't use the aura's and i always use mana flask after some trash. Dont know what is missing in my build or item setup. :(

Hey,

Def get the highest astramentis you can afford. This will grant a ton of intelligence and most of all; help with other stats (so you can unspec out of that pesky strength node). Further, maybe get intelligence on your helmet and ring (I'm sure you know that). Also, quality your mana flask. Further, for someone that tried this build and worked(killed shaper) I suggest you take a look at forum page 50. I go in detail about the fight and my gear. Maybe drop added lightning damage for faster attacks. Where is your ascentral protector totem? Add quality to spectral throw. Lastly, i sssume you have that nice belt for resistances.
Maybe crystal velt with intelligence/extra ES (could be expensive). I assume you have jewels that have "x3 attack speed modifiers"

Hey, check my build on forum page 50. Make sure you to the mana leech node located south on the "skill tree". It's very important you get that! Further, ever consider getting a jewel with "mana gained on hit", that with dying sun... oh man you'll leech a lot. ALSO, what about an elreon ring "-7 or -8 mana cost", finally, there is another mana leech bode somewhere near the assassin tree. Snag that if you realllly need it after all of those option. Oh, and mana potion.

Frankly I'm not sure how I'd cap resists without the helm and belt. All my jewels have at least 2x AS mods. I think I'll need quite a bit more currency to upgrade helm and belt. I've got 1050Int ATM and way over 300K DPS buffed, which is enough for guardians. I think for sure I'll need upgrade before Shaper though. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

So I have been looking on here for a few days and see a lot of different trees. Has anyone come up with a "Best" tree yet for DPS and ES? Without spending a ton of regrets I would like to know the answer. Thanks.
