[2.5] CI/LL Blight CwC Poison Vortex over 2M DPS Trivialize all content [Tri-Curse/HC Viable]

I'm so frustrated with this...I can't do shaper. I'm about ready to just sell all my gear and try a different build.

Is shaper possible without using concetrated effect? I think that's part of my problem but I'm not sure. I die a lot to his triple his melee slam, I dive out of the way by just doing 3 whirling blades and it kills me half the time anyways.

I'm finding it really, really difficult to get close enough to him to do damage with concentratd effect, also on the adds phase it's really hard to keep hitting them all and keep my mana up. I keep running out of mana, getting frozen and zana getting hurt.

Any tips? I just want to kill shaper and end the season so I think I'm going to junk this build and just make a shaper build.

I don't know why but I got insta gibbed entering the portal twice, once of the golden ray and once off the triple hit melee slam, he was fighting zana I think and I got telefragged.

I've spent the past week tweaking and upgrading my build to do shaper, it didn't pay off it just feels like I wasted my time all I did was drop some ES and gain a tiny bit of DPS.

Also something I don't understand, do I need chaos resist on LL?

I think I might just end the season now and not attempt shaper. I'm just not seeing a path forward in this game. Any reasonable upgrade would require several hundred chaos at a minimum which would take me a week to farm, but really I don't think the upgrades would even help much it would just be minimal energy shield.

linking this build a lot, just got my occy to level 80. can anyone take a look and let me know what my next immediate steps should be? my damage is good, but it's not quite there yet.

edit: didn't have a 6L shawl before, do now thanks to NazgulTirith :)!

Any reason why death's door is chosen over pure ES boots?

Would going for high ES boots be alot better than death's door?

Anyone willing to advise?

Thanks!

a lot of reasons, really.

1. this build has some str req. issues regarding our gem choice, therefore rather than using passive point(s) on the tree for str, we can use death's door as boots for easy str. it also frees up having to get str on other pieces as well, possibly solving our problems in choosing a really good piece of gear for a sub-par piece because you need the str.

2. immunity to bleeding, therefore we free up a bleeding flask slot for another flask of your choice.

3. decent ES.

4. flat all res.

when talking about choosing high ES > death's door, cost factor issue comes into play.

btw, at what point can this build start facetanking?

I just did xoph at 83 and couldn't facetank him at all. I had to constantly weave in and out with blades or I'd die. in fact, I did die because I stood for too long.

I'm at 8.4k ES with discipline atm.

edit - two things I see I wasn't doing:

1. arctic armor, I don't have the mana leech for it atm. Gonna need to figure out what to do.

2. basalt flask, I just forgot to use it.

So if i dont have the str requirement issue or resist issue, can i drop death's door for a 300+ ES boots?

It's your character, you can do whatever you want. If you feel the ES is better than the unique benefits of DD, then by all means don't use it. Everyone plays differently. I don't like worrying about bleed and I wanted a slot for curse immunity so I use it. You might not care about those things, so you just want the ES.

The one thing not mentioned about DD is the extra endurance charge, which is another 4% physical reduction, some more all res for ele weakness maps and longer IC duration (if you use it).

Still getting used to this build, especially going from life>ES as a new player, there's things I have to do now that I didn't do before. It's a skill and build thing.

In general though, it's odd. There are times in which I can sit there and tank a t12 boss with various mods while I sit there and cast, but if I blades into a pack of casting skeletons to cast and kill them on the same map, I explode instantly with 8.5k ES.
