You are usually better off selling it and spending the currency on other stuff to upgrade.

But assuming it's GMP hideout (which seems likely given a quick look at your gear) then honestly it's mainly your experience and skill at the fight - Shaper is one of the fights that are most dependent on understanding his mechanics, even moreso than Uber Atziri.

- First, if you aren't already, just use Slower Projectiles for the whole fight - you can get through the add phase easily without GMP. Also his melee attacks don't hit as hard as the giant Frostbolt things that he sends out when you're further away. You should be able to leech enough to ignore the melee attacks but you may need to dodge the laser/Frostbolts.

- Try to time it so you flask up when he is sending out his laser beam, it is the longest dependable time he will sit in one place and allow you to DPS. You can chunk him down quite heavily if you just get in there and go ham on him.

- When you see one his ball that spawn vortexes spawn, whirl to it immediately (assuming it's near the edges) or kite it towards the edge and proc it. Having the middle of the battlefield covered with vortexes makes the fight way harder; it's best to just take the time to get them proc'd ASAP and get back to focusing on the fight.

What you get with the Skyforth build:
1. Extremely dependable power charges vs (imo) power charges that are so irregular there shouldn't be wasted sockets on.

I took the OP's "max dps but less leech build" and dropped the True Strike line to keep it in line with my lvl94 goal(passive/passive/Kraityn).

Most of my gear is from my current char. I made generic good rings and jewels to keep the analysis consistent. (The helm is terrible and knows it. 10+ exs down the toilet)

My notes about the builds:

"Can take out a couple of the witch es nodes(12/10) and put them in Crackling Speed for comparable ES and more dps to nonSkyforth build.
(from 10,060 to 9,597, vs 9,720 es on other build) (from 309.8k to 331k, vs 327.2k dps on other build or 299.9k without power charges)"

If there are any improvements you guys see, disagreements, I missed something, or any general criticism I would love to hear it to make it better. I also need help figuring out skills to fill slots in instead of portal/gems to lvl.

And bash the helm all you want, it deserves it.

Well, I do have attack speed on all my jewels (missing 1 jewel in slot right now because I switched from BF, but other than that I have 2 Fertile Minds + 1 Brute Force (I'll equip it once I reach 95). So there are only 2 rare jewel slots at my level. I'm not the best player, but I'd say I play decently, but I'm no Mathil... Problem with Shaper is that it's too expensive to test run him a lot, so I can't learn the fight properly. I'll try googling more how-to YouTube videos, but I'm so frustrated right now that I need to take a break from this guy. :)

In terms of proccing those vortexes, try to proc them as close to each other, as close to the edge as possible, so you can maintain some space for yourself in the circle. After a while you'll be able to predict their AOE and be able to proc It is expensive to test run Shaper I agree, but prices of the fragments will drop as the league nears its conclusion so hopefully you won't find it as painful to practise it then!

So yeah sometimes you get very unlucky and the balls will spawn while the chaos hailstorm is going on. If that happens you can probably try and get it to proc at the edge of Zana's shield, or there's also some argument to be made for logging out at that point and using a portal.

If it happens near the beginning or end of the hailstorm (before the point where jumping out is certain death) it's worth it IMO to take the risk and try to proc at a better spot.

But ultimately, if the fight goes on too long it gets messier and messier, so the main thing is to try to get quality DPS time in with flasks up. The other factor is that once you're more used to the fight, you'll be able to walk near him when he's winding up for attacks more comfortably knowing what's coming, which gives you a crucial extra 1-2 seconds of damage time before you have to dodge a slam or go proc a ball.
