I tried this build a bit on a standard char but without the correct nodes and gear... just to get a feel for the play style. I didn't like the fact that you need to place the mines at your feet. I guess it will be much better with mine laying speed etc but you can't throw them a bit further like with traps. Is it true that with mine nodes it will a lot smoother?

You lay your mines a lot faster but there will always be a triggering delay. Even though this was my first mine build, it wasn't that hard to get used to the playstyle, shift clicking for mines to be placed under you is nice. High leveled Temporal chains on blasph makes it very manageable and less annoying to handle the playstyle.

for some reason path of building only use 1 stack of wither in it's calculation (if someone knows how to change it - tell me please ^_^)

In the "Main Skill" dropdown, select Wither. Then you should see a dropdown which allows you to set the number of stacks.

I threw this build together really quickly in standard on an old char, worse equipment than in OP. Path of Building is giving me 21.6 million total damage against regular enemies for 8 mines with +2 fire nova detonations helm enchantment with all flasks active, all ascendancies, all gems 20/20, 20 wither stacks, temp chains.

This is the gear I've used for the tests & calculations in Path of Building (I set the gems in PoB to 20/20 and added 6 link for conc effect, but otherwise this is the gear used; didn't feel like grinding the gems up to 20/20 this week):

Spoiler

This was just made with stuff I had laying around in standard; with better gear, the damage could definitely get much higher and survivability much much better (evasion/life helm, lol).

The playstyle is a bit different than many builds, but definitely can get used to it. Think I'll make this my league starter for Legacy, barring no awful nerfs in the coming patch notes.

I tried that, but it's not working. Those stacks reseting the moment when i change back to main skill.

Ah, now i get it, not in the main window, but in the column at left... thanks

Yeah, certainly. I'm also want to try it in the legacy league.
Also, considering "removing double dipping" in 3.0, it probably will be the last chance to truly feel that absurdly high satisfying damage :)

Yep, we can only hope the helm enchants aren't too expensive this league (due to increase in popularity of this build). I'm also starting this on legacy as well, good luck friends :)

I think making this build guide before legacy was a bad idea lol, whatever though, will have to snipe one.

If I came up with a build this good looking, I might not have shared it, heh.

All of my original builds have been garbage. Usually get interested in one thing I think is cool, but falls way short of my hopes in practice.

I think there will be a lot of competition for those lab helms. Even without the helm, though, the damage on this build is still crazy good, and I've been playing around in Path of Building for different setups - making it more survivable, or other variations. The scaling on the damage is good enough that things can be tweaked here and there to take the build in different directions without suffering too badly (but I'd have to try it out to see if any of those variations could do Shaper and whatnot).

Looking forward to the patch notes! Some of those old uniques could be a big boon to this build.

This build isn't going to be played by anyone next league...

good build for new league? what changed in 2.6 for this build?

Haven't really seen any changes for 2.6, from everything I looked at, unless I missed something. The AoE on Fire Nova Mines is a bit of an unknown at the moment, what with the conc effect nerf, however.

Otherwise, it seems like a solid league starter for an experienced player who is familiar with the mechanics. But the DPS, as written in the guide, is very dependent on that helm enchant. Build is still great without it, but you're not going to be one-shotting the high tier bosses or anything.

Helm enchant aside, this is a very inexpensive build for the DPS you get out of it.
