Clear Speed meta is good and isnt even yet where it needs to be

I don't mind that some skills/builds completely roll everything.
The issue is that a lot of the weaker skills/builds take so long to progress that enjoying the content is impossible. If you want to really solve the issue, then atlas progression needs to be flat along with experience gain. Map boss = 1 drop of next tier map. It'd be nice if we could get 100% of a level for clearing a same level map as well. Then they can nerf the hell out of 90-100 exp and you people can grind all you want while the rest of us are able to fully enjoy all content with a reasonable progression. Grinding doesn't have to be a horrible mechanic, but games always push it far beyond the point where it is fun. Especially this one. While we're on it, why are we doing the story three times? The second repetition is Cruel, The third is Merciless. A kid with a magnifying glass. . . looming down on the anthill. Eventually one is going to get you.

They need to make a skill you just take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, because, 'it's the only way to be sure'.

" "this clear speed is nothing new." ... it is new only to people that werent able to reach it without help of cheats ... (yes, BF is akin to cheating right now) So Blade Flurry breaks the game but the clear speed is not new to the game ? Your "arguments" are pointless and try to be insulting while only proving your level. Wouldn't it be easier to just write "I don't like the clear speed meta" ? However, I wont reply to you anymore. Fast clear speed is bad.
It has A host of performance issues. Limits build diversity Makes people feel forced to trade Results in repeated QQ about nerfs Can potentially lead to people cheating because they can't react fast enough to save themselves but a script could. One thing makes we wonder - it seems people mix up clear speed with difficulty. How will clear speed make dodging Atziri Flameblasts easier ? Reacting to reflect or Volatiles actually becomes harder as well.
As a joke I wrote somewhere maybe every skill should have an implicit quanitity modifier. Maybe that would actually help to allow different playstyles while not putting one at a disadvantage. Elemental Hit for instance might get a higher item quantity bonus than Blade Flurry or Lightning Arrow. ( Not to be taken too seriously - just a random thought if high clear speed skills and low clear speed skils could exist together in harmony ). " Yep, it breaks the game, because now you can have the clearspeed of a build comprised of mirror worthy gear on a budget. Which in return means anybody who gets even remotely close to these higher levels of gear by way of luck or ingame wealth will break the game. And since BFlurry allows people to get to that point faster than before, this threshold is reached earlier than before. And by the way you have no idea what you're talking about, Sid on the other hand is absolutely on point. " You don't have any arguements to begin with. Of course overpowered skills make the game easier by trivializing its content. Why invest in layered defenses, when all you need is a decent ES-pool and Vaal-pact + Ghost reaver to survive by leeching alone? Fact of the matter is, you wouldn't understand these arguments if your life was depending on it, let alone admit that there's merit to them. " Why dodge Atziri's flameblast when you can kill before she even finishes channelling it up? You do not understand how this game works. If it wasn't obvious enough before it certainly has become obvious now. High DPS skill + Vaal Pact + Flasks > reflect Ranged skill > Volatiles Blade flurry has both, high damage, and it's ranged. You're either blind to the obvious, or you're in denial. I am not sure wether it's the former or latter or maybe even both. " The highest clearspeed skill will always make the others obsolete. Higher clearspeed always means more content in the same amount of time, and adding IIQ or anything else to other skills won't change anything, because: higher clearspeed = more content in the same mount of time + more loot + more exp + faster gem levelling You do not understand that people will always want to take the easy way, and abuse overpowered skills. You think that, since BF allows you to invest more into passives, it's a good thing, while you forget that nobody who has the slightest clue will do that. People will go assassin or pathfinder + flurry + CI + Vinktar's instead, and just break the game by trivializing content. [quote="ScrotieMcB"]It's just, like, people's opinions, man.

" I'm not speaking of Mirrored Gear. Mathil just used his Essence Wildstrike build and put on Carcass Jack because the links didn't fit. I'm not sure if he was still using the Elemental Dagger, but I doubt it is a mirrored dagger. However with Blade Flurry being out I'm not sure if he will still try Shaper with Wildstrike :P " Well that is not right. All you needed for BV is Vinktars. You can't get cheaper than that. A BFlurry build with Binos feels good, but is far away from the damage a BV build rocks and likely even far away from its survivability. Yes with a budget build you can't just ignore most attacks you might have to dodge some telegraphed skills, but the same is true for a budget BFlurry build. Blade Flurry while likely too strong is far below Blade Vortex, I would put it slightly above unnerfed Earthquake + Voidheart. And you basically quickly reach a cap with Binos, because getting a better Dagger than Binos is a pain. It is easier to get a better sword than Scaeva or a better Claw than Rime or Scourge, because they are easier to roll, but those weapons would still have some price attached to them. " He does have a point though. We should not try to unnecessarily slow the game down. Whenever I start in a new league and I can't pick up some decent boots like Wanderlust from my chest I totally hate it. Just yesterday I logged into my ranger and while he isn't really strong he does have insane movespeed (well honestly he doesn't have A4 finished in any difficulty and he isn't ascended^^). Playing with him is incredible fun, and technically he also has insane clearspeed, because you don't need much damage to oneshot trashmobs, but he can't deal with most bosses without running around like a pussy^^. Having fast an engaging gameplay is cool and fun. And if GGG would shift focus to loot from certain stronger enemies, while also making them more durable we would shift into another direction. But the issue with the clearspeed meta is not the OP meta builds. The issue is that you are better of using a fast char like mine who can clear even red maps quickly, but gets oneshot even by most yellow map bosses instead of a char that deals less damage, is able to do all those bosses, but is a lot slower. With so much loot dropping from Blue Packs and White mobs, damage is essentially unimportant, coverage and speed matters. And since this is also a very fun aspect, instead of removing that the focus should shift to more powerful bosses granting most of the loot. |

who watched mathil's stream today ?
he was leveling BF, and killed atziri at level 60. the only strong piece of gear he had was voidheart (and a 5L belly, but thats hardly expensive nowadays) he had 2.5k life ofc so it wasnt deathless. but thats beside the point. back in the day we grinded docks for gear/currency at level 60 because higher content would be unbeatable, anyway, yes, streamers have some high power toons, but they can also objectively compare shit. every streamer out there says blade flurry is overtuned. that's because it blatantly is. I played it on a character I prepared specifically for it. its fucking boring as shit. everything just dies. Its to the point Im a glass cannon wearing an abyssus and I can do pretty much any map mods. vuln with shitty perandus mobs with abyssus ? no problem. double damage mods ? no problem. as long as nothing one-shots me instant leech is there to help me back (and I must laugh at people who tried to tell me instant leech is less of a problem than vinktars). thats with barely over 5k life and not using melee on full life gem. Im fully confident I can beat the guardians and shaper, and it probably wouldnt be particularly too hard if I switch to CI and get a pool of like 10k with instant leech, its a done deal. I will never understand people promoting clear speed meta. is it really that fun to press one-two buttons and 'win' ? doesnt matter who the mobs are, doesnt matter what mods there are...I mean, really ? are devourers even scaring anyone nowadays ? chimerals ? mobs that people shat their pants on from in 1.0 are just a homogenous gray mess that evaporates by a whim of a button...what a travesty, really. Everyone seems to have forgotten that Reave exists, which has arguably BETTER clear speed for general mapping, but isn't as good as something like blade flurry for single target... Yet somehow I haven't heard anyone bitching about Reave. Maybe Mathil should play Reave so all the whiners will see...
