[updated for 3.0] poverty friendly cold convert hrimburn BV champion - 800k+ dps
" whirling blades doesn't have the ability to cross gaps or hop over walls, i use flame dash for that purpose i'll post a more detailed guide up this weekend or early next week
Your build looks fun! I'm going to try it as my first character in the xbox one version :)

Hello, im following your guide and I got some questions. I have to say that I´m liking it a lot.
The gems that appear in the armour section are not matching the ones in the current gem link setups. Which should I follow? For example, • 4Link #2 - Whirling Blades + Fortify + Faster Attacks + Culling Strike but then in the armour section you are using Vaal Grace instead of Culling Strike. Another example is that in the armour section, you are using immortal call, which I like a lot, but its not listed on the current gem link setups. Is Singularity the best offhand possible? Still missing an offhand. What stats do I need on the belt (which is not listed)? Im pretty noob at this game, so maybe im asking dumb questions. Thanks for the help! Wormy
Hi there, actually playing a blade flurry physical but i was considering switching to your build.
I have some questions if you dont mind. Does a rare 6L is better than carcass 6L or another unique like belly, Qotf etc.. ? Maybe we need evasion so a rare is better. In the armor section you linked a very solid boots with max res. Do you need that much to be capped ? I have like 1000 chaos budget. Thx for the answers. " the armour section was written when i first started the guide(i just updated that, thanks for the reminder) the current gem setup section is the latest optimized version of the gem setup. you can use whatever you're comfortable with but the links in the current gem setup is what i prefer to run. singularity isn't the best possible offhand but it is generally the cheapest option to corrupt to obtain 100% total cold conversion. if you don't care to convert the last 10% phys to cold you'd want to use a sambar scepter (6% penetration) such as this (but preferably with a higher cold roll, flat added elemental damage to spells and cast speed instead of fire damage) belt is mainly just to fill resists/life, i'm using a rustic sash base Last edited by teek on Aug 24, 2017, 4:47:29 PM

" carcass or cospri's are going to provide a lot of damage, but in order to keep my defenses up i prefer to use a rare. queen of the forest ends up being mostly pointless as iron reflexes drops our evasion rating to 0. if you want to push damage as high as possible i'd go with cospri's and a +1 curse amulet to run triple curse. ele weakness and frostbite will provide more damage against bosses than carcass would. either way running either carcass or cospri's is a pretty big defense tradeoff. plus, the more evasion you have, the less necessary grace is which means you can afford to run something like hatred for even more damage than carcass belly is a perfectly fine choice if you have the resists to use it in ele weakness maps comfortably the bonus hp is arguably as valuable/more valuable than the few percent worth of physical damage mitigation difference Last edited by teek on Aug 25, 2017, 12:53:05 AM

Hi!
I'm leveling a new character right now (level58), but I'm confused because the passive tree I see here has nothing to do with the one in your youtube video. Which is the correct tree? the one here (the one here doesn't use the cold conversion node or unwavering stance, elemental overload, etc...) or the one in your video? Thanks in advanced! |
|
" i ended up dropping unwavering stance altogether for the time being, it's not something you'll need outside of a few niche encounters and really doesn't add much to the build. if anything, it's something i'll probably pick up with the last set of points. the updated for level 90 tree does have winter spirit (cold conversion) but it's not on the 62 tree because it's something you don't need to worry about picking up until late in the build. same goes for elemental overload, they're both things you shouldn't really be worrying about until you pass a comfortable health threshold to start pushing into endgame content. i actually didn't end up picking up EO until a few days ago as i already had enough damage to do the majority of content (including guardians) without it once i have the complete leveling guide finished it should help clarify any issues with build order and i'll be sure to note the few different variations this build can have, thanks for the reminder. i'm still in the midst of polishing the latter levels of the skill tree so it's subject to change. feel free to pm me in game if you have any other questions or suggestions Last edited by teek on Aug 25, 2017, 4:13:20 AM

I think this build looks really promising and I like the fact that you have tried a different ascendency for this. A couple questions if you don't mind for comparison sake.
1. For your ascendency points, why did you take Worthy Foe instead of Unstoppable Hero? It seems to me that you would have fortify up all the time and that would theoretically give higher dmg output. POB doesn't seem to process any of the fortify nodes when I played around with it for some reason, but was curious as to your take. 2. How does this stack up against an inquisitor? I'm guessing it is a dmg vs. defense tradeoff.
" i tried a variation with unstoppable hero in legacy league but fortify basically has permanent uptime when linked to whirling blades, and since we have some breathing room between having to recast blade vortex there is always opportunity to get it back up if it falls off we don't have any real damage output from melee/attacks so unless i'm missing something unstoppable hero doesn't actually provide us any bonus damage to anything except whirling blades which does a negligible amount anyway, so you're basically trading 20% increased damage and 10% reduced damage to any party members you might be playing with for something you can keep up yourself as far as inquisitor vs champion you're exactly right, it's a pretty substantial defense tradeoff but you do get a lot of damage in exchange. personally i prefer a well rounded character and i feel like this build has enough damage as a champion. it's definitely something to consider but would require a total rework of the build |
